No presentations, Straight to the point, no time wasting, it's all about creating effects.
Niagara is the most powerful and flexible particle system in the game engines,
One of the great features of Niagara is its ability to simulate millions of particles in real-time, making it perfect for creating realistic weather effects, explosions, and other large-scale effects. It also has a comprehensive set of tools for optimizing performance and controlling particle behavior based on various parameters such as distance, speed, and other game-related events.
Niagara also has
a flexible and powerful system for working with materials, allowing developers to create unique and detailed particle effects that can be seamlessly integrated into the game world.
With Niagara, the technical artist has the ability to create additional functionality on their own, without the assistance of a programmer, You can create very complicated effects without using a single line of code. It's flexible and easy to understand.

(translated by Copilot) This beginner course for Niagara was very beneficial. It provides examples of expressions commonly used in game VFX, which can be experienced in order of difficulty, each with a theme for the techniques learned. I recommend it to those who need to quickly transition to Niagara from other engines, as well as to Niagara users who are new to VFX creation. I took most of the course with Japanese subtitles, but it would be great if the translation accuracy could be improved.

This was a great course teaching plenty of different visual effects in Unreal 5. The instructor goes into enough detail and provides enough explanation that even people like myself who have never used Niagara before can get stuck in and leave feeling confident that they can create some cool effects. The effects taught vary substantially including fire, portals, electric energy balls and an energy shield. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone interested in learning this system.

Edit: This course is just to good for the price, i finished it 2months ago i came back now and i have 4 new chapters with amazing content. I would love to see a mix of this course with the Houdini one where we create sims and flipbooks on Houdini and use it in UE, theres a really lack of courses mixing this 2 tools for real time vfx i guess you could just be the perfect teacher to do it :D

This is a really good starting point for people that want to learn VFX with Niagara! Probably one of the best courses in the area to be honest. However, there are a few annoyances here and there, like when the instrutor says "don't worry about that now, we will take a better look at it later" but he doesn't. He never showed how to properly attach a Niagara System to a character and how to turn a fluid simulation into a flipbook, even though it was promised in other classes.

So far this course has been great. The instructor moves fast but still explains everything you need to know. I like this style a lot because it allows me to get a lot of information quickly and if later on I am confused about something I can always go back and use the course as a reference.

I completed this course a year ago and just looked back to see I'm only 55% done with it now that Raffi has added tons of new content. This course teaches you less of what "looks good" and more just how to use Unreal to make VFX. It was fantastic as someone who already has a strong art background, I just needed to learn how to use the tools.

This is all great learning material and I have improved my knowledge of Niagara significantly so far (and I'm only half way through!) My only complaint is that I have trouble following along due to the instructors speech - he often says "and then we click this, and connect it to that." I regularly have to rewind the lesson several times to figure out what "this" and "that" mean in this particular context. It would be much easier for me to follow along if the instruction was more deliberate with their word choices. Instead of "so we set THIS to 0.3", perhaps the instructor could say "we set the exponentIn of the fresnel node to 0.3" The audio part of the lesson can be more effective with more detailed narration. I'm loving the lesson and am excited to complete my shield spell. I am stoked to learn how to incorporate some of these effects into sequencer! Update after finishing the class: Lots of really good information, I learned a ton! I did not like that Maya was used for so much. I don't have a problem with Maya, but nowhere in the course description was it mentioned when I enrolled in the class. Also, the very last part of the final video in the last lesson, the instructor says "keep in mind, this is not the correct way to attach a niagara system to an actor, i will show you how to do that later" but it's the last video of the course?

Very good input! Thanks alot. I have been learning UE for about 18 month now and tended to sneak my way around learning about materials and effects. I got hooked on Niagara a couple of weeks back and this course helped me understand the systems and modules much better! I would be happy to see more Niagara courses from you in the future! Maybe with some details about performance, GPU vs CPU Sprites... Anyways thanks again!!! Great work!

Great course. Even if you have never used Niagara, after this course you will have walked away with at least a basic understanding, plus the stuff you make is pretty cool to. All the textures and meshes are provided (there is a part where the instructor briefly goes over creating some meshes but this is not a course on how to create meshes and materials for VFX). I do hope the instructor revisits Niagara again in the future, whether it is whole new course or more additions to this one. This course provides a good start and I'd love to see more.

Strong point of this course is that the instructor has a good Design Sense. He has written in the course description that he will increase the course duration from 3 hours to 10 hours in the coming months. I would like to request him to slightly increase the scope of the course, and show us some amazing things that can be achieved in Niagara by using the power of Houdini.
