Course Description
What is Object-oriented Programming (OOP)?
Object-oriented programming (OOP) is a popular programming paradigm or style of programming. It’s been around since ‘70s, but unlike tools and frameworks that come and go, OOP is still very relevant today. That’s because it’s not a programming language or a tool. It’s a style of programming.
Why learn OOP?
OOP helps you manage and reduce complexity in software by building re-usable building blocks (objects). Properly designed objects provide a simple interface and hide the unnecessary complexity from the outside, just like a DVD player! A DVD player has a complex logic board on the inside and a few buttons on the outside. When you press the play button, you don’t care how all those microchips talk to each other.
Object-oriented programming helps you:
- Manage and reduce complexity
- Eliminate redundant code
- Build re-usable building blocks
- Write cleaner code
An essential skills for every developer
OOP comes up in many technical interviews. So if you really want to be a serious developer, you need to understand object-oriented programming. As a technical interviewer myself, if I see a candidate with OOP on their resume, that candidate stands out to me.
It may interest you to know that many of the popular frameworks out there that you might be using are actually designed with OOP concepts in mind. Angular is an example of such frameworks!

Mosh gives the best, In-depth presentation of JavaScript objects and explication of OOP that I have seen yet. Mosh presents material with no hesitation and very few errors. He is truly an expert. The video graphics are at a level by themselves. The complex is made simple in a very professional way. Well done Mosh!

This is a good course! But why i am giving a 4 star , not 5 star is, this course is very outdated now, for example we have different ways to declare private properties just by putting # in the first, so would be better if mosh update this course, But for learning prototypes and prototypical inheritance this course does justice, do give it a try you won't be disappointed ...

Mosh is a great teacher, very methodical and clear in his explanations of concepts. This course may have been slightly above my current level, but the information challenged me and stretched me to a new plateau of understanding of JavaScript. I feel that I benefitted a great deal from it. Looking forward to his course on Node.js.

Mosh is a global teacher. His diction, explanation, care with details, the edition, everything is amazing. As a Brazilian student it was great to also improve my English listening skills. Teachers should pay attention in the diction as Mosh does. His courses really worth the money by far.

I like how the concepts are explained well, and there are exercises, I wish the course will go on further and have more exercises. and I wish the last section which is section 6 will have a more detailed explanation about webpack or the installation of webpack, it took me a while to figure out how to fix the errors since there are package compatibility issues.

Mosh is really good instructor with good explanation power BUT some concepts need more visualization to get sink in. He just use simple codes which is good but difficult to grasp for beginners. If you have prior knowledge of OOP , it would be easy to grasp OOP in JavaScript. If you are totally new in OOP then this course is a rough ride but not IMpossible. Please Mosh! if you read this, please provide summary notes at the end of sections. Also make a course using javaScript explaining data-structures and algorithms. thank you!

Mosh is always a great instructor. I took another course of him before and it helped me a lot to learn the basics of JavaScript. I am here to move my skills to the next level with Object Oriented Programming. Edit after completion: Thanks a lot Mosh. I learned a lot from this course. I have already bought his other courses and I am ready to move forward!

This course takes you through OOP principles, classic Javascript Objects, Prototypes and Prototypical Inheritance and leading up to the modern ES6 syntax, how it relates to classic JS and how to use modules in Node and the browser to split your code and build more complicated apps. The instructor is friendly and engaging and encourages good programming practices from the start. An excellent course for those interested in understanding core OOP concepts and how to implement them with Javascript.

As usual Mosh goes through the whole subject to give us a real-world tutorial on the most important points regarding object oriented JavaScript with an emphasis on ES6. Great refresher course and general overview of the subject. Remember you can speed up the videos. I watch his videos at 1.5x speed.

The teacher explains excellently and patiently. He has a deep understanding of the concepts and knows how to put things across in a simple and easy to understand manner. This is the only Javascript course anyone would ever need to understand the non-conventional way of object-oriented Javascript.
