C# Intermediate: Classes, Interfaces and OOP (Udemy.com)

This course FINALLY gave me a feeling of confidence regarding all the formerly mysterious and arcane aspects of object oriented programming and the .NET framework. Great pacing, modulation and presentation from a great teacher!

The course is good, however examples are not good enough and some are hard to follow or comprehend. It would be better to use clear examples.

It's currently early May 2026. I went through the fundamentals and intermediate courses primarily for a brief dive into learning C#. While it's a helpful introduction overall, the course could definitely benefit from some updates: 1. In the lectures, it appears a fairly outdated version of VisualStudio and C#. This makes it difficult to follow along in the coding sections (especially in my example below). I also notice that most of the posts in the Q&A are at least 6 years old. Perhaps a decline in engagement with this course is a direct result of its outdated content 2. I'm not sure it's useful to have so many references to using the Resharper extension, unless the trial for it happens to be of indefinite duration. I saw the paid subscription requirement for it, and for learning purposes, this isn't really worth it. Specific issues with the Interfaces and Testability lecture: 1. The source code for the lectures is not shared, and this particular lecture did not show the code in each of the source files used. Students following along and reproducing the code while following along are left with guesswork to implement those files. Fortunately in this case it's not very complex but if you're not going to share the code upfront at least show all of it in the video. 2. A specific comment was made in this lecture that unit testing was outside the scope of this Intermediate course, and yet this lecture focused heavily on showcasing unit testing. A little contradictory in my opinion. 3. It appears that the version of VisualStudio used in the lectures is the 2015 version (or maybe 2019 at best). This causes an even larger issue for a student to follow along. I used VisualStudio 2022 to follow along and do the exercises in this course, and by default, new projects are created with .Net version 8.0. The .Net version used in the examples in this course all appear to be around versoin 4.5. This caused some headaches when attempting to follow along with adding the Testability.UnitTests project to the solution: the unit testing project used is not compatible with .Net versions beyond 4.8. I had to spend a considerable amount of time figuring out which project type to use (MSTest, xUnit, nUnit) and each of those also requires additional setup after adding the project to the solution through the NuGet package manager. Out of all the lectures that one is most in need of an update if any new students enroll for this course.

Mosh is an excellent teacher who has done a great job of giving a comprehensive and step-by-step introduction to C#. His Intermediate course covers Object Oriented concepts such as Classes, Inheritance, and much more. He also explains why certain aspects of C## are useful (for example Interfaces which improve testability and extensibility). I would highly recommend his course!

Pretty good. A lot of content here. Pretty dense, or maybe I'm a slow learner. I will definitely have to rewatch the chapter on interfaces again, and I will probably end up watching the whole thing over again in the next couple of years. More content unpacking the idea/purpose of interfaces would have been appreciated.

I always enjoy Mosh's classes. He breaks down the material in a simple straight forward way that makes it easy to understand and follow.

A very informative and well-made video course. Clear explanations, useful examples, and a great learning experience overall.

Clears basic concepts of OOPS from layman point of view to coding point of view. Explains properly differences between tightly coupled and loosely coupled classes. Moreover explains the concepts of Encapsulation, Polymorphism, Inheritance and Interfaces with real world examples.

Being an "older" student, I am 61, I really appreciate Mosh's way of teaching his programming courses. As I mentioned in the email I sent to him, I have an "end user" or "front end" way of looking at his exercises. He obviously has a "back end" or programming way of looking at his problems. This is a very good thing for someone like me because after being in the IT world for over 20 years, it forces me to think with a programming mindset. I also had to tell Mosh in the email I sent to him about the problem with the MANY other, very intelligent individuals that teach programming or other IT subjects that have a VERY heavy accent when speaking English. Mosh does not have this and for an older student like myself, I do not have to rewind his video to understand what he is saying like other videos. I DO rewind his videos sometimes because he speaks FAST at times, but that is not a problem. Another reason to love individual learning with a video! All in all, I will continue to take Mosh's courses not only due to being able to understand him, but it is very obvious that he is VERY knowledgable of the do's and don'ts of programming with various examples on why. He is one of the most popular instructors in Udemy and youtube. His explanations are very organized and easy to understand. One thing that bothered me was that he talked about resharper over and over again.
