Last updated January 2023
What you will learn
- You are going to be able to develop .NET apps that use Entity Framework Core
- Read, update, insert and delete data using Entity Framework Core
- Create databases from C# code
- Model relationships using conventions, data annotations and the fluent API
- Do automatic tests that involves Entity Framework Core
- Use the latest features of Entity Framework Core
Course Description
In this course you will learn how to use Entity Framework Core 6 to talk to a database from C# code.
- We will learn to create databases from our C# code using the code-first technique.
- We will make a brief comparison with Dapper, to see what is the difference between each of these tools.
- We will see how to read, update, delete, and create data using Entity Framework Core.
- We will learn to work with relationships between our tables: One-to-many relationships, one-to-one relationships, and many-to-many relationships.
- We will use the Fluent API to configure the schema of our database.
- We will see how to use automatic tests in our Entity Framework Core projects.
- We will learn about the new features that Entity Framework Core 6 brings us.
- We will use functions such as Sum, Average and GroupBy, to perform operations on different records of a table.
- We will see how to execute stored procedures using Entity Framework Core.
- We will load the related data of our entities in different ways, using eager loading, explicit loading, select loading and lazy loading.
- We will learn that with deferred execution we can use interesting techniques to make our code more flexible and reusable.
- We will see techniques on how to correctly configure Entity Framework Core in ASP.NET Core, for example, we will see when we should use a pool to recycle the DbContext.

I have done a lot of courses over the different libraries, but this is the best of on Entity Framework. Practical, line by line typed, through detailed indeed. Wish you create more courses, like on SQL, Azure, JavaScript, Angular etc.

Huge gratitudes to the Author for such awesome course. I've learned a lot about EF Core and good practicies how to use it in the ASP.NET Core with Blazor Server. I recommend the course even if you know how to work with data based on CRUD operations, there's much, much more to learn :).

I've taken other Udemy courses on .NET and while they have been really good, Felipe describes things more thoroughly and in ways that are easier to understand. I'm starting to feel like I really know my way around EF Core! Thank you!

This course is great. pronunciation is deservering more students. His course is structured in a very good manner. Felipe clearly has indepth knowlegde of all topics and discusses them in great detail. I've followed this course intensively up to 55% a few months ago, but then switched on a different topic. With the knowlegde I gained untill then I was already able to made some valuable side projects. I'm looking forward already to pick-up the course again and learn more. If there's anything to complain, it might be Felipe's accent/pronunciation which might make you miss a worth sometimes. But just like C#.. you'll be able to infer anyway what's meant ;-) Vamos!

I already have experience with EntityFramework 6, but only on a basic level. Since I want to use EF Core more, I took this course for a better understanding. Roughly speaking, there are two types of courses: those that use simple examples to deal with many specific issues and those that build complete solutions. Both have their justification. Felipe explains EF Core with many simple but very common examples that I have encountered while developing an application. So this approach was the right one for me. Since he is not a native speaker, he certainly has an accent. However, I don't have any problems, maybe because I'm not a native speaker either :-) . Setting the playback to 1.25x helped too . So a total of 5 stars because of the many relevant questions that are well explained using simple examples.

This is course is outstanding !!! Every single video encloses a lot of knowledge. The videos are short to keep us focused, with real examples that can be used as patterns for future projects. This course teaches much more than Entity Framework Core 6, there is a lot of LINQ, ASP.NET 6, Web API, and more. Thank you so much for this masterpiece.

One of the best and most thorough courses on the Udemy site. A lot of effort and thought went into the organization of this course. This course is just as good for beginners as it is for advanced users! I can highly recommend this course and all other courses from this author!

I am old school dBA. Since speed is not likley an issue, we will try this . Course is clear and relevant. He is super clear and points out hints and stuff that you will likely need [Edit: THAT I ACTUALLY NEEDED. I am up and running ALMOST in production]

Great course. Even thought a bit arduous, it provides a very comprehensive introduction to EF Core. Material is very "concentrated" and filled with useful information. Instructor shows not only how to do use EF Core, presents different (also advanced) features, but also explains how it all works under the hood. I found the chapter on Automatic Tests very interesting (and to a degree challenging). I wish it was longer and contained more examples of different testing techniques (figuring out how to design the "arrangement" phase with mocks and a need to manually instantiate all necessary object is definitely a skill that requires some practice). Also, I think, it could be a good idea to create a separate course on .NET Core (and modern C#), which in their own are huge topics.
