Around five and a half hours across 87 lectures cover primitive and non-primitive types, control flow, arrays and lists, dates, text, files and debugging in Visual Studio. Roughly 284,000 students have enrolled and about 80,000 have left a rating, which averages 4.5. The material assumes nothing about C#, but reviewers say it lands best if some programming concepts are already familiar from another language.

Praise centers on the teaching. Students call the explanations clear and step by step, and one says Mosh explains the what, why and how instead of just showing syntax. Another singles out the debugging section as the most useful part. The low ratings tell a consistent story. Not great for beginners. I've written some small programs in Python successfully but I am just not catching on here. I feel like the explanations are not detailed enough and there should be exercises more often. As soon as I got to the real exercises and was expected to write something, I was at a loss. There are solutions for the exercises in the resources but they do not have any file extensions, can't be opened in notepad or even Visual Studio. Tried adding .zip extension and it worked but it just shows the state of the course. Do not recommend if you're new.

One of the best didactics I have seen in an online coding course. Direct, simple and effective. The concepts provided in the theory sessions were kept to the necessary amount needed for us to go to the demos and get a better understanding in practice. Also, the exercises are not long and tedious, so I felt they were the double check to make me feel I am able to apply the concepts I learned and make sure I did not miss anything.

It was a good match in general. Even without doing all of the excercises I feel I got a grasp of the basics to read C# code and understand it and even write some basic routines. Picked up some useful skills and tool suggestions too. I feel a lot of people are using VS code instead nowadays as a UI so would have appreciated some extra remarks at the end of Visual Studio-Heavy lectures on how to accomplish similar things in this other popular UI that doesn't have resharper per se. Other than that, the course managed to maintain student interest nearly throughout all lectures, great approach.

The course was very good overall and I learned a lot. However, I think it would be better if the instructor taught without relying on ReSharper, since not everyone can afford it. The frequent suggestions to use it were a bit distracting.

Great presentation. Would be even better if you would enlarge code examples and console results because the text is pretty small. Also, black background makes it hard to see. White would better. Also, would be helpful if you provide your coding solution right after the exercises, so we can compare.

This was a solid introduction to C#. The instructor explains concepts clearly and the course helped me understand the fundamentals of the language and debugging tools. I especially appreciated the sections on defensive programming and debugging techniques. One improvement would be showing more visual navigation in Visual Studio instead of relying heavily on keyboard shortcuts, as that would help beginners follow along more easily. Overall it was a valuable course for learning C# fundamentals.
