I will update this as I go along with the course, but so far from the beginning installation is complicated for even someone that has some basic experience. I feel like because of this many users will be lost at this point and feel frustrated with continuing with the course. The actual process of installing Oracle is not bad - but the video definitely needs an update at least in this respect.

This is a very very very wordy course that can suddenly throw off the learner. Stay factual and to the point. Terrible Experience. Not my style of learning.

Doesn't explain how to get the tool set up at all. The database files that he keeps talking about are non-existent and not in the resources available for download. Extremely frustrating course so far.

I am a Java developer with considerable experience who was recently assigned to an Oracle project. Having only worked with MySQL before, Oracle was kind of a new beast to me. I was overwhelmed by packages, cursors, etc. I took this course to get a grasp on the fundamentals so that when I looked into code at work I will be able to get a general idea and can Google my way through the tasks until I get a real understanding. I have to say that the course excelled in that aspect. I wish there were student assignments too so that we could get more hands-on experience.
I will be coming back and take this course once again after I have few months on the new project. Thanks Tim.

A good course for beginners with good explanations. I think it would be a good idea to add exercises or quizzes to the course to test understanding of topics. Nevertheless, I would like to recommend this course to beginners.
