Course Description

Build a production-grade Playwright framework — and let AI agents do half the work.

Updated August 2026: Playwright Agents, MCP servers and AI-editor workflows

Most Playwright courses teach you to write tests. This one teaches you to build the framework a real QA team ships — and then shows you how to generate, refactor and document it with AI agents in a fraction of the time.

No 60-hour lecture marathon. No theory you'll never use. In focused, hands-on sessions you go from npm init to a complete, CI-integrated automation framework — every line of code written on screen, every project source code is available to download

What you'll actually build:

Project 1 — E2E banking app suite: login/logout flows, feedback forms, search, fund transfers, transaction filtering, payments and a currency-exchange challenge you solve yourself.

Project 2 — REST API test suite: full CRUD coverage, token authentication, JSON assertions and a CI pipeline that runs it on every commit.

Project 3 — AI-generated framework: a complete Playwright project scaffolded, refactored to the Page Object Model, converted from JavaScript to TypeScript and documented — driven almost entirely by prompts.

You'll finish this course able to:

Set up Playwright with TypeScript on any project, correctly, in under 10 minutes

Write tests that don't break every sprint

Structure a framework that scales past large tests suites

Use AI agents to do the repetitive 80% — and know when not to trust them

Who this is for?

Manual testers moving into automation (JavaScript basics are covered from scratch)

Selenium, Cypress or Puppeteer users migrating to Playwright

QA engineers and SDETs who need a framework, not a tutorial

Developers who want reliable E2E coverage without hiring a QA team

Is Playwright worth learning if I already know Cypress or Selenium?

Yes. Playwright runs on Chromium, Firefox and WebKit from one API, auto-waits by default, tests APIs natively and now ships its own AI agents. Job postings have followed. There's a dedicated migration lecture for Cypress and Selenium users.

Thanks Kaniel for this in-depth introduction to Playwright! This course is great if you want to get an understanding of how to use Playwright for testing as well as other useful implementations. My favorite is the Tips sections! The course covers a wide range of topics. As other reviewers stated, the audio is not so great in certain videos. And some of the videos are dated (e.g. the old Twitter website is used). But if you can get past that, I highly recommend this gem!

I was looking for a quick course to learn the basics of Playwright and it did the job. The content is simple and well explained, making it easy to follow even as a beginner. The only thing worth mentioning is that sections 12–15 felt redundant for my purpose — they cover more specialized topics. If your goal is the same as mine, feel free to skip them and save some time (it took me around 22 hours to finish). The only downside is that some things felt slightly outdated and occasionally the testing websites used in the course weren't working (you could probably find the solution in the Q&A but I didn't have time for that). Overall a solid course for getting started with Playwright.

The course was very nicely structured. First, it starts with all the needed basics, and then after the first half, the rest is additional info for the curious ones. The lecturer's English level was amazing! Thank you, this course helped me nail Automation QA Engineer interview!

I can't describe how much this course influenced my skills. It doesn't only cover most of the playwright functionalities, but also gives a picture for testing and brings you on another level. Not even mentioning about helpful additional topics in this course. Great job! One of the best courses I've ever taken part in.

This course provided me with an exceptional learning experience. The instructor's teaching style is outstanding. The course content is comprehensive and well-structured. It covers a wide range of topics, ensuring that learners get a well-rounded education. The hands-on examples and practical exercises were particularly helpful in solidifying my understanding and allowing me to apply the knowledge in real-world scenarios.

By Kebing Zhang on 3/16/2023

This course is very suitable for beginners, especially those who do not have much experience with test automation tools like me. The course is well structured. Starting from the fundamentals of Playwright and gradually advancing to E2E and Page Objects, then to the advanced topics, allowing students to understand how to build an automation testing project from scratch. The last part of the course introduces HTML and Javascript, which is very useful for learners who do not have experience in this area. I think an area for improvement is that the UI elements and locators used in the course are very simple, such as every element has its own ID. If more examples of locators for more complex UI elements can be added, the entire course will be more valuable.

Overall Okay. Good for those who know the basics of automation testing and JS/TScript. A few extra topics are covered, but it's very basic. Audio volume is very low, some difficult to hear, and English pronunciation is sometimes difficult to understand(even the auto subtitle/caption failed to understand and showed wrong text on screen)

By Denys Barkan (Barkanov) on 5/5/2022

Pretty good course! It covers all important parts and tools to work with the framework. It's well structured and has a great tempo in declaration and description. Highly recommended for AQA engineers who looking for new knowledge about the Playwright framework.

By Andrea Spoehrer on 2/3/2022

This course is comprehensive and gives all you need to automate both your UI and API tests using PW/PW Test. I have created full sets of API tests for all lower environments and Smoke for Prod using PW in Azure DevOps pipelines. Best product for testing to date and great course for learning it.

By Timothy Brinded on 1/17/2022

This course can be considered an essential piece of training for the modern SDET working with web technologies. The clear communication style, full examples (i.e.no lazy copy pastes) and plausible exercises made this one of the most effective knowledge inloads i've had to date. Highly recommended!
