Course Description

Giving a business presentation can be challenging in any language. When English is not your first language, you may also be thinking about vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, cultural expectations, and whether your audience is understanding your message.

But an effective business presentation does not require perfect English. It requires a clear message, thoughtful structure, confident delivery, and an ability to connect with your audience.

This course is designed for global professionals who want to strengthen their business presentation skills and communicate with greater confidence in English-speaking professional environments.

You’ll learn how to organize your ideas, make your message easier to follow, and focus on the information your audience needs most. You’ll explore practical ways to prepare for presentations, reduce presentation anxiety, use your voice and body language effectively, and handle questions with greater confidence.

The goal is not to erase your accent or make you sound like a native English speaker. Your expertise matters more than perfect pronunciation. Instead, this course helps you communicate your knowledge clearly and credibly so your audience can focus on your ideas.

You’ll learn how to:
• Structure business presentations for clarity and impact
• Identify the most important message for your audience
• Present complex information more clearly
• Build confidence when presenting in English
• Use pace, pauses, tone, and emphasis effectively
• Strengthen executive communication and professional presence
• Prepare for questions and respond more confidently
• Reduce common sources of presentation anxiety
• Adapt your message to different professional audiences
• Focus on connection and understanding rather than linguistic perfection

Whether you present to colleagues, clients, senior leaders, or international teams, these skills can help you communicate your expertise more effectively.

By the end of the course, you’ll have practical strategies for delivering clearer, more confident business presentations — while communicating in a way that still sounds like you.

Enjoyed the thoroughness of the material and how it was presented. However, I did not particularly care for the Gender section.

Excellent tips and tools that really helps me overcome the language barriers whilst speaking in front of an audience or even for succeeding communication

So far, I've been enjoying this course. And yes, I speak English as my second language. In fact, it is always nerve-wracking to speak in front of audience, whether I have to give a speech in Japanese or English. So, I would like to get some tips on how to give presentations well without feeling so nervous, and the lecturer in this course has provided me with them!

Great content and practical exercises. I totally recommend it not only to non-native speakers but also to everyone who wants to improve their presentation skills.

In the past I enjoyed a course with Deborah Grayson Riegel. Although I only read /speak English, Deborah encourages others like myself to continue with the course

This course provides a number of handles and techniques to improve your presentation skills, but I don't think these would necessarily be limited to non-native English speakers. I would have liked a bit more information about the (most common) cultural and linguistic pitfalls a non-native English speaker might encounter when doing a presentation in English, and what to do to prevent them.

By Gergely Bódi on 10/27/2022

There are a lot of good advice. But sometimes she repeats herself, or even says contradictions in different videos. For most of the pdf resources, she reads them in the video word by word. Also, I get most of the content very easily. But when telling a joke at the beginning of 20 (or 21), I had to go back and listen a few more times to understand (I think because I'm nonnative English speaker). So it has a good value in it in general, but there are ways to improve.

The course presented some strategies I'll be implementing when making business presentations. I highlight the fact of accepting my accent and cultural background to feel more confident when speaking in front of native English speakers.

By Renato Mota on 1/24/2022

Good content, direct to the point. I believe that it can support people that doesn't have English as first language to do better when presenting in English.
