Course Description
Don't be manipulated by others, keep your self-confidence high, and avoid workplace gaslighting by knowing exactly where you stand without allowing other people to make you doubt yourself!
STEPS TO DECREASE GASLIGHTING
It's not enough to learn what gaslighting is and recognize when it happens. You must also know what to do as next steps, and how to prevent it from happening in the future. You will learn which steps to take next, what to consider in confronting the person doing the gaslighting (the gaslighter), the risks involved, and when to escalate the matter to HR.
ASSERTIVE COMMUNICATION SO OTHERS TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT
Sometimes you will need to address gaslighting right there and then, in the moment it occurs. For this, you will need to be equipped with assertive communication skills. After this course covers how to recognize gaslighting, one of the skills you'll learn in this course is how to use assertive communication to stand up for yourself in a manner that's respectful, fair, and kind to you and others.
GETTING AND GIVING FEEDBACK AT WORK
Another skill you will need is the ability to give and take feedback in a professional manner. Learning how to do this correctly will help you recognize when it's being done incorrectly. That skill will also protect you from workplace gaslighting, and help you assert yourself!
PREVENT BULLYING IN THE WORKPLACE
Gaslighting is a quiet form of bullying at work. It's not outwardly aggressive, and sometimes doesn't get immediate attention or a response. But when you learn to recognize and prevent gaslighting in the workplace, you are also bolstering your anti-bullying efforts in the workplace!
Bullying can take many forms. It can be in the form of emotional abuse, mental manipulation, or mind games. Often, it's subtle, and difficult to spot in the moment. With this course, you'll become better at quickly spotting behaviors that signal emotional abuse, mental manipulation, or mind games, and you'll have the skills to address and stop those in the moment they are happening.

It was a good introduction to gas lighting. I would of liked to see more examples of gas lighting from managers and words to use against sarcastic bullying managers.

The title says preventing gaslighting and manipulation. It is more about assertiveness and feedback in a normal situation with normal people rather than with actual people who gaslight and manipulation. there are only a few sections on this. was expecting more focussed on the said topic. It could have rather be titled as ‘how to be assertiveness and give feedback’

The course seemed to lose focus and a lot was quite basic though some was helpful for me.

I like the examples and how the presenteer explains the reasons behind gaslighting - they make sense for me and make it easier to recognise gaslighting cases at work. Besides, I like the differenciation between gaslighting and giving-receiving feedback in a positive way. Thank you for the course. It is very useful.
