Course Description
We are the World’s number one provider of Self Development and Arts Therapy Courses, with more than 180,000 students in 192 countries.
This course is the perfect choice for both individuals and professional therapists looking to expand and enhance their repertoire and portfolio. Although the course alone won’t qualify you as a therapist, many of my students that are considering a career in coaching, take the course so they can advertise themselves as a professional coach that uses cutting edge Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy techniques.
The Modern Effective therapy System
R.E.B.T or Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy to give it its full name, is a modern effective therapy system that was originally thought up by Albert Ellis during the 1950’s.
R.E.B.T is sometimes referred to as “rational emotive therapy” or simpler still, as “rational therapy”.
R.E.B.T, is a type of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), that is focused on helping clients change irrational beliefs, and is one of a very few therapies in psychology that has evidence in support of its effectiveness.
R.E.B.T is known as the rational therapy, because at its core, this most modern of therapies is all about understanding how we make sense of our emotions.
Everything we feel and everything we do, involves emotions, so Ellis developed this action orientated approach to psychotherapy, which produces results by helping clients manage their emotions, their cognitions and their behaviours.
This most wonderful and modern of therapies, teaches us that it’s not events, or things that upset and disturb us, but rather how we view these events, or things. In essence, how a person thinks, influences their feelings.
When a person believes illogical and irrational beliefs about themselves, others, and the world, psychological problems and mental distress will often be the result.
The goal of REBT is to help people alter these negative thinking patterns and irrational, illogical beliefs, in order to overcome any resulting psychological problems.
I have created this course, in such a way that everybody can benefit from this amazing therapy approach. No special knowledge of psychology or therapy is needed, as the course has been written for beginners.
An open mind and a willingness to rethink the way in which you view yourself, others and the world is all that is required for you to gain maximum benefit of the REBT Model.
REBT can be effective for a long list of disorders and issues, with a good body of evidence supporting its effectiveness for each one.
These include:
Depression
Various forms of anxiety, especially social anxiety
PTSD
Phobias
Panic attacks
Eating disorders
All types of addictions

Problems related to emotional control
Personality disorders

As you can see, REBT is a versatile approach, helping people with a wide range of psychological and life issues.
Included in the course, you’ll find a number of resources to help you apply the principles of REBT easily and effectively.
As with all of my courses, you’ll be able to benefit from full support from myself 7 days a week. I always get back to my students the very same day, and more often than not, within a couple of hours (depending on your time zone!)

very good course. I read a book about REBT written by Albert Ellis and I started to perform REBT on myself and even managed to quit smoking using REBT. So far so good except I failed to help a friend of mine who still smokes while I also stopped applying REBT in other areas of my life. What I find extremely valuable in this course is the fact that it teaches REBT in depth and also helps the viewer gain the skills to help other people using REBT. So even though I knew what REBT was I still found a lot of new information in this course. I gave it a 5 star rating because it is above expectations. Last but not least please have in mind there are multiple resources to download including workbooks.

After taking the course, I could understand the difference between rational and irrational thoughts and the ways to combat those irrational ones using the ABCDE model of REBT. Also I got to know much more about the 3 musts in which the patients thoughts fall and also the 3 rational beliefs of Acceptance and their sub beliefs. The course was articulated in a very understandable manner. I deeply express my vote of thanks for such a wonderful course.

Libby explains the principals of REBT in a very clear and concise manner. I like the materials, worksheets, and examples that were provided. Her thorough review of three clients make the ABCDE application very real, applicable, and memorable. The only suggestion I have would be using lower-movement, and relatively neutral backgrounds for the lectures, as I found some of them incongruent with the topic and distracting. The popup animations were very suitable for the topics and helped capture attention. Backgrounds aside, I would highly recommend this course for anyone.

Yes it was a good match. Content could be a little crisper, less verbose and speeded up a tiny bit

Concept has been explained in a very simple and understandable manner for beginners as well. Clearly defines the fundamental differences between CBT & REBT. Curriculum is comprehensive. Trainer is engaging. A few more examples related to establishing therapeutic relationship, how one could structure the sessions and finally how the therapy can be concluded could be added on. Overall, it was a learning experience! Thank you.

The teacher Libby Seery is very clear and succinct in her explanations and I love the animation! I have been "reading" REBT and Dr Albert Ellis for years and I think this Udemy course is the best ever. Even at full price, this REBT Course with Libby would still be excellent value for money. Don't hesitate to enroll, it will give you the tools you need to understand and help yourself and everyone around you. Knowledge of the principles of REBT is priceless.

As usual the content is delivered in short, easy to digest segments. The instructor makes explains things very clearly and the content is easy to understand. My own research on REBT talks about the ABCDEF model (as opposed to the ABCDE model) - I'm not sure if there was a reason this was modified - but otherwise the content was great. I would've liked more worksheets - I find application to be the best way to check depth of understanding - optional case studies and accompanying questions would've been a great way to do more active learning.

Excellent information on the behavior of the mind. I am already a HUGE FAN of Alan Watts and his philosophical teachings of controlling and understanding the mind. This course actually puts his work in a new perspective to me as he would also offer solutions to problems of the mind and world and not just offer "information" but "advice"...which I feel like you did soo very well with concise and easy to understand methods of dealing with "irrationality" in our world.. Thank you Libby.. Another course well done!

It was simple and to the point. The work-sheets will be very useful to remind me what to focus on, what kind of thinking to avoid and what to change my thoughts to replace the dysfunctional believes. More examples from a real life would make it easier to understand the irrational believes and what to replace them with. I didn't like much the voice over, I would prefer a bit deeper voice. Overall helpful guidance through REBT. Thanks, Vladka

The course is incredibly comprehensive, easy to follow and easy to understand. There is an incredible amount of information and resources that are very helpful to make use of beyond the course. The instructor does a fantastic job in describing what REBT is, how it differs from CBT, and how it can be utilized in a variety of circumstances. The instructor is engaging and makes use of case studies to better understand REBT's application.
