Course Description

This comprehensive course dives into the practical use of Revit MEP for modeling, designing, and calculating electrical systems within building projects. Designed to equip professionals with the latest electrical BIM workflows, students learn how to seamlessly integrate electrical design into multidisciplinary building coordination.

The course guides learners through the essential setup of Revit projects tailored for electrical calculations, focusing on configuring templates, linking architectural models, and preparing project environments for collaborative work. Emphasis is placed on realistic, project-based techniques used by electrical engineers and BIM professionals.

Students will explore efficient lighting design strategies, including how to create and analyze lighting systems using advanced Revit tools. This includes working with spaces, reflected ceiling plans, fixture placement, switches, and annotation symbols, turning traditional electrical plans into smart BIM models enriched with embedded electrical data.

The curriculum then advances to power systems, teaching how to create and manage electrical circuits, use connectors, transformers, and boards, and configure comprehensive power distribution networks. Learners gain skills to model conduits, cable trays, and pipes, and fine-tune wiring and voltage configurations.

Throughout the course, special attention is given to extracting meaningful metric data from circuits, generating dashboard views for load balancing, and producing detailed electrical reports essential for project documentation and decision-making.

Developed by AulaGEO with original content in Spanish by Enzo and narrated in English by Gabriella, this course offers a global perspective and practical mastery for those engaged in electrical system design using Revit MEP.

Good course, well explained, slowly but not too slow. Overall great starter lesson for electrical designers

By Peduzzi Christine on 12/12/2024

Managing and extracting data from electrical models has streamlined my approach to project documentation.

By Knight Stephen on 12/12/2024

Collaborating on multidisciplinary projects feels seamless now, thanks to the integrated workflows I’ve learned.

By Ali Sotoodeh on 9/4/2023

She speaks very quickly, making it challenging to keep up. Additionally, she doesn't clarify the purpose of the procedure she uses at the start of each segment. It is perplexing.

By Kwame Amo on 3/8/2023

there are no basics introduced or steps for shortcuts used but that makes you do a lot of research to learn the basics

By Syed Masooth on 9/15/2022

Clear explanation. I learned something and it should be possible to start using Electrical Revit with the course knowledge. Good knowledge on Electrical Topics. Thanks.

By Edson Gonzalo Estrella Magallanes on 5/2/2022

Its a good basic revit course to learn how to use the tools for electrical system projection; however, keep in mind that it will not teach how to project electrical systems or neither will give specialized electrical practices. Its good to start knowing the revit interface for electrical systems.

By Cuneyt Celebi on 2/16/2022

System voice and the english accent of the speaker is not good enough and needed to listen more than 2 times some parts of the educ. This is not interactive, not stimulatig with assignments or explains with more examples.

By David Müller on 1/3/2022

The course was Ok. But it gives just a overview of the electrical systems (data was mentioned shortly / fire wasn't mentioned). The voice was clear and easy to understand. Most times the voice and screen actions aren't simultaneously. However I learned something and it should be possible to start using electrical Revit with the courses knowledge. The introduction and explanation of linked models and spaces was really good!

By Keyvan Talebizadeh on 3/23/2021

Narrator voice is not clear at all. You need to listen several times to a short part of the video to figure out what she is saying exactly. Unfortunately, there is no subtitle too. Please add it.
