Richard Allbert

I'm not usually fussed about leaving reviews, but the amount of times Richard has updated this and his 2D course is quite crazy. He completely reworks entire sections and has improved upon his teaching style and architecture since I first started following him. I've done quite a few Godot and Udemy courses, but in comparing Richard's courses to others, I think it's quite unrealistic to expect a comparable level of quality. These courses aren't just about pumping out a few basic games, but rather teaching the very vital, and difficult, design patterns and structure that *programmers* should follow in order to build a well-designed video game, and not some copy-paste shovelware slop. If you are interested in making video games, Richard's courses are very good courses to take. Just take it slow, document your findings (I use Obsidian) and make an effort to understand the decisions and architecture that Richard has put in place. If you wish to be an actual programmer and problem-solver, you need to make you brain big by tackling difficult challenges, not outsourcing to an LLM. This course (or his 2D course) is a good start to doing so.
