I like this course because its interactive, offers the critical thinking skills by listening and then applying what you learn. The last case study was interesting, I personally need to review this part again to ensure I have grasp all the concepts that are fixed in there.

You can definitely learn a lot from this course. At times I did feel like the information was a bit repetitive. I do wish the instructor spent a little more time on smart pointers, but luckily there are plenty of resources online to fill in the gaps. I also wish the code covered in section 6 was downloadable. Overall, the course is well structured and I would recommend it.

I recently discovered this Secure Coding in C/C++ course while seeking to enhance my skills, and I must say, it has been an eye-opener for me. The course stands out for several reasons: Pros: Exceptional Instruction: The instructor possesses a clear and articulate accent, coupled with profound knowledge in the domain, making complex concepts easier to grasp. Engaging Quizzes: The inclusion of quizzes at the end of each session encourages active participation and reinforces the learning material effectively. Insight into Common Mistakes: The course adeptly highlights frequent errors made in everyday programming, providing valuable insights to avoid them. Perspective on Code Review: It offers a unique glimpse into how others might interpret and assess your code, fostering better coding practices. Suggestions: I would highly appreciate it if you could develop more courses on similar subjects. Structuring them in parts, ranging from beginner to highly advanced levels, would cater to a broader audience and facilitate progressive learning.

Karoly's course has everything I want in a course: it goes direct to the topic, it addresses it with clarity, it divides the matter into digestible parts and it delivers the content in a progressive way, so every step adds something to the previous one. In less than two hours, you'll know the fundamentals of memory safety in C and C++. That's a lot to say.

This course was very thoughtful for beginners and intermediates to C and C++. It covers the crucial areas that need to be considered when designing and writing robust, secure code. I enjoy the way the instructor keeps the videos brief while delivering the important points for security in the code. I do believe that this course is good for anyone trying to get better at security and gives them a good starting point to learn more on their own. Thank you Karoly!

I'm much more familiar with C than C++, so the memory management C++ information was interesting for me. However, it was a bit odd that all the code exercises were C++ focused. Also the first exercise should be more forgiving with its tests for new lines. It took me a few tries to figure out exactly what was needed to be printed even though I grasped the core concept immediately.

Excellent Presentation made easy for learning. And the tests and coding examples were perfectly and excellently configured, not too easy and not too difficult. It could be made a slight more difficult (just my opinion). Overall excellent learning course!
By Benjamin Klingbeil on 2/11/2025
The course was concise and informative. It was a good review covering all the main secure coding practices in C/C++. The quiz questions made me think back to the most important concepts of each section and reinforced my understanding. Overall, this course is worth taking if you want to brush up on your secure coding skills.

This class is a refresher for me so the pace I am learning at and the examples are doing a great job at refreshing my memory! I love how we see the code, then when the code is run or tested see the problem and then see the solutions. It helps to drive the point to why we need to code securely.
