Algorithms and Data Structures in Swift 5 (Udemy.com)

I wish the course was a bit longer and included more things, like linked lists. Also, it probably needs an update re concurrency and thread-safety: extremely important topics when using collections and other data structures across multiple tasks. I particularly love the companion eBook: most courses would benefit from a similar approach.

Great course and excellent instructor teaching! I had never taken data structure and algorithm classes with someone who explained such complex concepts in such a simple, clear and objective way! I'm already a senior developer, but the course helped me to review and better understand many basic concepts!

I liked this course and the concepts are well explained by the instructor. Thanks Karoly! Linked Lists, Trees, and Graphs are not included in this course. So I feel this course is good for basic data structure learnings. I have also requested the Instructor to add Linked Lists, Trees, and Graphs before 2 years, but still there is no update.

It was a great experience. The instructor has explained everything very well in easily understandable manner. I'm just giving 1 star less for the reason that the custom implementations of Stack, Queue, Linked List and Heap Sort can be added as they are also included in Data Structures & Algorithms many of the books. Otherwise it was good.

Good course overall. I think you must have an already basic understanding of algorithms and data structures to fully grasp the usefulness of the course. It can be a little fast, especially when implementing the algorithms. I used the swift algorithms club from github as reference, definitely helps bring it altogether.

I took this course to learn the Swift language more in depth, while not concentrating on Mac or IOS specifics. I ended up getting back to the basics, which was helpful regardless of the language used. It would have been nice if the course covered more algorithms and gave the opportunity to use more advanced features of Swift, but then it would have been of a different level. I enjoyed it!

This course gives me a much deeper understanding of how to write efficient and effective Swift code. It addresses things not covered in the various other crash courses on iOS development, things not apparent at first. I'd published several simple apps and games already but discovered I needed this information when I started working on a much more complex app and needed to understand how to improve my app's performance, so I searched for information on that and discovered this very helpful course.

I enjoyed this course. It's relatively brief but gives a good overview of algorithms and data structures in Swift, which is an area that I think the Swift community is sorely lacking some good educational content. Karoly clearly knows his stuff and I understood him well. If I were to offer critiques for future improvement: 1) Slow down a bit and walk through the steps in the code in more detail. I have a good understanding of Swift and was able to figure out what was going on by pausing the Playgrounds screen and going through it myself, but spending a little more time detailing those steps I think would help. 2) Use more real-world examples of where one algorithm would be beneficial compared to another. For example, "let's say you were trying to sort a list of ages for all the students in your university. It would be beneficial in that case to use x algorithm over y algorithm for these reasons..." I tend to understand things better when I have solid real-world examples to use them on. Overall, great course! Now I need to find a more advanced course.

The concepts are very well explained and the instructor look very confident and knowledgeable. Overall, the course is great for brush up the concepts of algorithms and data structures. I recommend the course for the ones who has previous experience with Swift and programming. But if you are a total beginner in swift and programming, I wouldn't recommend at all. Even for me with experience in swift and programming in general was not easy to understand the logic of the code, especially when he uses recursive functions. That's why I'm giving only 4 stars.
