This instructor makes no assumptions and explains everything he puts in front of you! From the smallest icon to the overall concepts and theories behind why the code is required, the balance between technical and wavetops is perfect for a novice like me to follow the instructions.

This course gave me a deeper and detailed understanding in the field of Software Development. The instructor explains concepts clearly with practical examples that make learning easy. By the end, I felt confident in programming and ready to tackle projects as a Computer Engineering graduate. Highly recommended for anyone starting out in software development! Thank you so much, sir Karoly.

When the instructr is going through a new coding feature, he does not delete the previous code. This means that when he runs the code, many different results show up. This is confusing to me. Also, the course starts out slow enough for people who have never done coding before to follow. Then it picks up too quickly to follow if you have never used Python before. I found real value in teaching about a software developer's role and the different organizational approaches though.

Pretty good, the course is very insightful and provides good explanations. The coding exercises were pretty fast but you can pause the video when required so it wasn't really an issue. I liked how easy the Python coding explanation was and as a beginner it really helped me. Thanks!

I'm a Sri Lankan government official who works in HR. I thought of switching my career to software development and an expert software engineer and a good friend of mine recommended this course and gifted it to me. The teaching style is very good. I loved the examples and how the course is delivered. The course gives the learner a very good beginner knowledge and insight into most of the essential aspects of software development at an entry-level. And I must say, the companion e-book is a very valuable learning resource and a must-have. Thank you very much for the knowledge, Karoly. Let me greet you with the humble native greeting of my country. ''AYUBOWAN!" means "May you live long."

I've been coding on and off for about the last 10 years, more or less spinning my wheels as far as turning my hobby into a potential career. This feels like a good introduction into what the industry might look like if I can get there, and I'm looking forward to more specific information as I get through more of these learning path courses.

I must confess that this course is the perfect match for me, in the sense that I have always wanted to be a programmer. My experience so far has been amazing because each clip I watch, is a myth conquered and a step closer to my dreams of being a software developer. Very professional tutoring from the instructor in whom I'm now convinced that a novice like myself, can achieve anything when in a capable hands. Well Done!

[EDIT: Instructor made some valid points of my criticism, definitely 5 stars] It's pretty solid, but there are certain things that I would explain a little more, or certain things I would avoid talking about if you aren't going to describe it. For instance, you talk about an SDK or JVM or something of the sort, but you don't state what that is. While I do know it, a complete newbie doesn't. Also, when you say that indentations have to be 4 spaces, you don't state that 4 spaces is the equivalent of a single tab. Again, I know this, but I don't think some random person who is just now looking into programming knows how many spaces a tab is equal to. Another small thing I would like to mention is that you have the students indent every line one at a time, while in almost every IDE (including VSCode), you can just select all of the text and press tab to indent all of them at once. It's not a problem to do it for a few lines, but you don't want to be stuck doing that for a couple hundred lines of code.

The content is of good quality but not enough for an introduction to software development for beginners. There are a lot of general programming concepts that are not explained as they should be for a beginner. There are also others that that are not even mentioned. For example I would have liked to hear a couple of words about GIT systems. Overall feeling was that everything was in a rush. Probably I would have given a 5 star rating if the course was twice in length.
