Course Description
This course will introduce HOW YOU can build a custom front-end coded shopping cart from scratch. Users will be able to add items from multiple pages into a shopping cart. Users will also have a shopping cart that has a checkout button to purchase shopping cart items using Paypal. You will be amazed at how easy this is to setup and get going on your website. This is by far one of the most asked for and discussed types of projects that web developers create. Learn to create a simple eCommerce system using HTML, and jQuery. Course also covers using Bootstrap to build the website but Bootstrap is not a required part for the functionality of the code.
HTML - Using HTML for page structure you can setup products on multiple different web pages. Once you visitors click the button links on the product the item information gets added to a shopping cart. Checkout anytime or browse more products updating the shopping cart. This is a simple but useful solution for anyone who wants a simple shopping experience for visitors to HTML web pages.
CSS - Bootstrap is used within the course to apply styling and structure to the website. Bootstrap is used for rapid web development so we can focus more on the mechanics of the application and how it works. Some CSS will be covered but in limited capacity within the course.
JavaScript / jQuery - Some limited JavaScript is used but course content and coding is mainly based around jQuery. jQuery provides an easy way to add event listeners and work with JSON data.
PayPal - Purchases from the shopping cart can be made via Paypal. the course will show you how to JSON format your shopping cart items, and extract out the object information. This format can be utilized in other for other payment processors as well. Checkout within the course is formatted with a one click option to pay via Paypal.

Good course and straight to the point tutorial. I would like to see more regarding PayPal integration. The various options of PayPal APIs are not mentioned. This course focuses on building the website with just enough tutorials to integrate to PayPal using the NVP (name, value, pair) interface.

possibly a little beyond my initial understanding but I'm a quick learner if the instructions are clear enough, think I kept up, more or less... There's few other things I'd like to know - I have a couple of thousand products so want to put products pages like /products/moulds/christmas/ with a drop menu from the products button. also would prefer the number of items in the cart to either be on the cart button or visible when you hover over button would also like to see a shopping cart not shopping checkout - I guess I can change this, cart to have qty editable/removable not the checkout as such - checkout should just be a confirmation page where if all is well you can proceed to payment - paypal or you can return to cart. the script.js - copied direct from your source code is throwing errors??? did I miss setting something up?? otherwise I am happy with my new lexicon and mind mush!!

The course is fast pace, I like the way the instructor uses console.log() to see what we are getting at every step of the project and especially with the event listener. I think the course is not for a beginner, and the student has a little experience with JQuery, JSON, and of course HTML and bootstrap. I recommend this course, you will learn a lot how to manipulate data at the front-page.

The Shopping Cart works great. I haven't tested this out in the real world but I would be confident using this on a website. A drawback of the cart is if the customer opens the cart on the products page, it would be nice if they could delete just one item if they happen to have purchased more than one of a specific item instead of having to delete all of the items. All in all though, I'm happy with the cart. Thank you!

I really like this course. He makes building a shopping cart in JQuery easy. I feel like I'm learning so much. The only thing that I would say is wrong is that I wish he had downloadable code with each lesson. Sometimes I get confused and it would be nice if I could download the progress to compare my code for erros. Other than that this course is very good.

Simply love it! I was worried that creating a shopping cart would be hard but this course (all credit goes to the teacher) made it so simple! Love bootstrap even more now! Make sure you have some knowledge of bootstrap and web developement before taking this course so you can actually understand what this is doing. Otherwise this course will be way too fast for you.

The information is good and the course is delivering on its promise. My website is coming together! My only critique is that there is not a lot of detail on why the code works, and thus troubleshooting is very difficult. I am not sure I would be able to replicate this after viewing without taking a lot of time to examine the code. I recommend having a firm grasp of javascript and jquery before attempting and be very comfortable with object manipulation. If you have that this course teaches some awesome tools.

The cart doesn't have the delete/update item function in the Jquery and when an item in the shopping cart that is 0, PayPal can't process the order.

Extremely smart and does a great job on walking through the steps. I am familiar with bootstrap and I learned quite a bit going through the class! Definitely worth your time. I feel so much more confident in my ability to take on new projects and clients. It would be very beneficial to add the delete functionality as part of the course. Thank you!

Very clear step-by-step course of how to create a simple electronic shop. The implementation might be simplistic, however, the ideas introduced are easy to digest and spare a lot of development time, and effort. Consider this course as a productivity tool must have in your tool set! Definitely recommended for the ambitious junior front-end developer!
