Course Description
Stress is a part of life — but it doesn’t have to control your day, your decisions, or your well-being.
Deadlines pile up. Priorities change. Difficult conversations happen. Your inbox keeps growing. And sometimes several stressful things seem to happen at exactly the same time.
Most people know they need to manage stress, but knowing that and actually doing it during a busy day are two different things. As stress builds, it can become harder to concentrate, make decisions, communicate effectively, stay patient, or maintain perspective.
This course offers quick, practical strategies to help you manage everyday stress more effectively — even when you’re short on time, facing ongoing pressure, or unable to remove the source of the stress.
Because this is a Smart Tips course, each lesson is short, focused, practical, and designed to give you strategies you can begin using right away. You don’t need hours of free time, a complicated routine, or a background in psychology or mindfulness.
You’ll learn how to:
• Recognize your responses to everyday stress
• Notice stress before it becomes overwhelming
• Calm your mind during challenging moments
• Regain focus when stress affects concentration
• Respond intentionally instead of reacting automatically
• Manage difficult emotions
• Identify thinking patterns that intensify stress
• Challenge unhelpful assumptions
• Build realistic stress-management habits
• Stay grounded during high-pressure periods
• Handle workplace pressure with greater clarity
• Recover more effectively after stressful moments
• Make more thoughtful decisions under pressure
You’ll also explore common thinking traps that can make stressful situations feel even harder. The goal isn’t unrealistic positive thinking. It’s developing a more balanced perspective so you can respond to what is actually happening rather than becoming overwhelmed by everything that might happen.
Small habits practiced consistently can make a meaningful difference. You’ll explore realistic actions that can help you create moments of calm, protect your attention, regain focus, and recover more effectively.
Whether you’re dealing with workplace pressure, personal challenges, competing responsibilities, or the everyday stress of a busy life, this course will give you practical tools to pause, reset, regain perspective, and choose your next step.

Deborah comes across as professional, clear, modern, and relatable, which are exactly the qualities I look for in a trainer when using Udemy. Like she mentioned early in the training, you can watch it in any order. I If you lack time, watch one or two in the morning and it will either serve as a reminder or as something new to try out. My plan is to definitely to back to the sections once in a while. Thank you, Deborah!

The information was great! very useful. The presenter was good, clear spoken, well paced. I have noticed a couple of editing mistakes in the videos - Several where the video was cut off a few seconds to early - a couple in the text on screen - Several where the video didn't automatically advance to the next video The 2nd virtual scenario did not work for me.

Smart Tips: Managing Stress is a concise yet impactful course that I would highly recommend to anyone who experiences stress, anxiety, or overwhelm — whether occasionally or on a daily basis. Deborah Grayson Riegel is an excellent coach: clear, empathetic, and engaging. She shares personal examples that not only make the content relatable but also create a sense of trust and connection with the learner. This enhances the learning experience and fosters real reflection. The topics covered in the course are highly relevant to both our professional and personal lives, and they significantly influence how we live and how happy we are. I particularly appreciated the practical nature of the tips — they are realistic, doable, and well-suited for those who, being under stress, often struggle with low energy and motivation to change. This is not just a set of theoretical suggestions: it’s a toolkit full of simple strategies that you can start applying right away to feel better, think more clearly, and regain control. A great course — short, accessible, and full of value.

Thank you for this course. I learned so much, now is the hard work of just putting in the effort to apply what I learned. I took notes along the way to help myself remember all the information. I thought the delivery was excellent. It kept me intrigued and interested the entire time.

It is a good course with good tips. I just don't think that it was quite the information I needed because I am more of a chilled person, but there are very good insights in the course and the delivery is engaging

I normally dislike courses on stress management, as I kind of feel everything has already been said in this area, but here I am under the impression that this one here is as much about HOW advice is being served, as it is about WHAT is being served, so congrats to this Lady, as she has managed to keep me curious engaged thanks to her great (but not exaggerated) energy and wit!
