One thing I noticed was that you still create the getters, setters and constructors in the code file rather than using Lombok and its @Setter, @Getter, @NoArgConstructor and @AllArgsConstructor. I have been using that instead of the way it is in the code and works great. Also, would be nice to be able to see the finished classes sometimes. I tend to make stupid typos and then it takes a while to find the bug. I often have to go back in the video to see if I missed something you said. But all in all a great course. Thanks

I have started two previous courses but always drop out because of my IDE difficulties and when things get too complex. For example, I have the old courses link to Intellije IDE which required an update but now says I need a paid license to do anything. Please get back to me if you have any suggestion.

It was ok, but a bit annoying and hard to follow when he first writes the result, then he presses Ctrl + Alt + V (I've found out that later) to auto-generate a variable, instead of typing the data type, then the name, then equals and so on. I would've liked more explaining before the method, like what does it do? How does this exact method will help? He does that to some methods but not all...

I think it’s an amazing course, even though it’s only about 6 hours long, you can really tell a lot of work went into it. I did have some ups and downs, mostly because I used Lombok instead of the traditional constructors, getters, and setters, and I experimented with different annotations. In some areas, I ran into deprecated methods, but I managed to find workarounds. It’s definitely not beginner-friendly, you need to have a solid understanding of Java. But if you’ve just passed your OCP exam, or you know your Java basics well and want to dive into Spring Boot, this is the course for you! I do wish the course had been a bit longer, with more in depth explanations on things like Thymeleaf, database queries, how the model works. Why we add certain things to the model, and how the connection happens between Thymeleaf and the Java code. Why we return "redirect:/dashboard/", return "addNew" for example, does it mean we return a mapping etc. I would of like to have a bit in more depth explanation about security side, how and why are we using the Authentication for example. I would have loved a bit more detail on what each annotation does and why it’s useful. Overall, I feel this course could have a little more explanation here and there, that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. But I definitely recommend it!

It's been a great course. Not too long, not too short with a fully functional application that I can use as an example. I actually used the intial set up and framework to start a new side project at work that I will be using to demo to other developers because this is a great example of how to build a spring boot web application.

By Matthew Chen on 2/25/2025

This is a great course! I have taken several Spring Boot classes on Udemy, but I still learned a lot from this one. The instructor makes concepts easy to follow. However, I do have a suggestion for improvement. I know that this course is not aimed at beginners, so it is understandable that sometimes the instructor types without providing explanations. However, I believe it would still be beneficial to include brief explanations, even for experienced learners. There were moments when I found it a bit odd, as I initially thought the video had an audio issue when the instructor was typing without speaking. Aside from that, I highly recommend this course for anyone with a basic understanding of Spring Boot who wants to apply their knowledge to a solid project.

I completed the Spring Boot 3 end-to-end project certification, and it was an excellent experience. It covered key areas like Spring MVC, Thymeleaf, Spring Security, JPA, Hibernate, and MySQL. I learned how to build a complete, secure web application with a solid backend. Highly recommend this certification for anyone looking to enhance their Spring Boot skills!

To be honest, the project didnt even explained anything and didnt even gave overview at every steps that whatever chad was gonna do at any point, being a Chad Darby follower since his Spring course, i am disappointed as his all courses are too good

By Alexander Frömberg on 9/22/2024

This one was a good course and I've learned a couple of things. I am not a fan of the thymeleaf-aspect though. It got the job done, but it was not properly explained. Furthermore there were a couple of things not explained in detail. In the end it was quite the jump from the Spring Boot beginners course. It would have been better if it built on the old course and explained the new things in detail. The way the code was written and structured was different (worse) as well. Sadly this course fell behind the Beginners course and I expected more.

By Raimi Lawal Mustapha on 7/14/2024

This is an amazing course in which a professional spring boot application is being built. The knowledge in this course is applicable to anywhere spring boot projects are being developed. This course has exceeded my expectations, also the student's support in this course is highly efficient , timely and knowledgeable enough to support students throughout the entire course.
