I enjoyed the course pace and content (and definitely learned a lot), however there are a couple of things that bothered me at the end of it. First is that the title says "Beginner to Master", but I certainly don't feel like a master after it. It doesn't cover packages or anything else a developer needs to know in order to start putting together java applications. The second is that it doesn't point to other courses where a learner like me could pick up where this course leaves off.

He could have improved the topic by adding multithreading and concurrency topics.

Sad to say but this course is designed better than my college class. I am at the end my semester but I have learned here more than actual class. The theory is explained and tested by examples on IDE in every video followed by a challenge to reinforce learning. Excellent course! Hopefully they release advance level course too.

An amazing tutor, love his way of teaching. He is experienced, organized and knows exactly what he's doing. We just need some bigger projects to do at the end of the course so it help build our portfolio. Other than that, 10/10.

I was skeptical that I could learn new things after age 45, and even more skeptical that I could learn them in an online course such as this. I really only signed up for this to follow along with my son (also bought it on his own) who needed a "work at your own pace scenario" to learn Java because he'd had a lot of trouble keeping up with the Intro to Computer Science course at his college. Well, I am no longer skeptical. I am learning new things and both myself and my son find this course easy to follow. My son says it is preferable to the course at his University because he gets to pause, write the code, and that he is retaining the information much better than he did from lecture to lecture when he took ICS at his college. I'm grateful that courses like this are available and I plan to take more to expand my knowledge and job skills.

Good course so far and the tutor is easy to understand - unlike some courses! Had a confusion during the installation of the software needed to write the code (InteliJ IDEA) as a vital bit of information was missed out, however this was solved in the Q&A section.

By Scott Elliott on 12/16/2020

The instructor communicates in a very patient, lucid way. This is an ideal Java refresher course. One addition I would make is that I discovered on my own that I needed to download JDK in order to run my first IntelliJ program. I also like the Intellij IDE and believe this was a good choice. My 5-star rating remains at the 50% point in this course. Very clear patient instruction with concepts which build on one another. Extremely good practices like //end main, //end for which I am adopting.

For a novice Java programmer, this is a good match for me. I am an experienced programmer and a data scientist, but want to complement skills with Java and then C++. I like the code along technique, then the embedded exercise in every lesson and finally the projects at the end of the section.

By Aj Picciuto on 11/23/2020

Dr. J did what two professors I had for beginning code classes couldn't. I understand the fundamentals, after attending college and going through higher level courses I found it is almost impossible to do data structures or algorithms with a lousy code fundamental understanding. The value of this course is truly priceless for what it is being offered for. CAN WE GET A JAVASCRIPT COURSE??

By Hrvoje Danijel Zivcic on 11/21/2020

The course is great, it is well structured and the lecturers speed is optimal for following easily in own IDE. I definitely recommend this course to everyone wanting to learn Java or who are having difficulties in university level software development courses. It helped me a lot with my studies.
