I've been playing the Piano for many years now, but I'm lacking in Theory. I cannot show someone else how to play the Piano if I'm lacking these skills, like how to construct a MINOR SCALE. I have no trouble construction Major scales Commencing on C. I.E TONE, TONE, Semi-Tone (First Tetrachord up to F natural). 2nd Tetrachord = from G-A = TONE, from A-B = TONE and from B-C = SEMI-TONE. The upper Tetrachord of any Major scale = the First Tetrachord of the next Major scale = G MAJOR , and so forth. So I'm sure I can increase what I know by doing your courses. Thank you. Regards, Henry van Zyl.

I really enjoyed your course. I'm professional musician performing for over 2 decades and teaching for over 1 decade. English is not my native language and I kind of felt I need to improve in the terminology to give the best knowledge I can to my students. From the musical perspective I can tell this course is very well done! Thank you :)

Seems a nice course so far, rating requested early in the course, might be higher later.

I wanted to review this course after I finished it, but for the first few videos I couldn't understand anything a bit and i don't think I can finish the course. I don't know the purpose of the instructor but he should be slower and precise about what he was talking about. For the new comers, if you have some knowledge about the music and you want to consolidate it this course might be OK for you, but if you don't please take some other course.

This is more than just a Music Theory course, it is also an Ear Training course. I decided to take this course because I have learnt a lot from Rajiv's excellent Bass Masterclass course. This course is every bit as good as I hoped it would be, Rajiv has continued with his strategy of giving us more than we expected! The music theory lectures are great and the examples that Rajiv included with the lectures really make you think. The Practice modules are brilliant, by doing them I have found out just how much I really understood and they have highlighted areas where I needed to watch a lecture (or two!) again. The ear training parts are superb, they include skills builders and tests, and cover more than just interval recognition. It is all very comprehensive, in fact Ladies and Gentleman, I think we have a Music Theory and Ear Training Masterclass here! By the way, if there is anything in the course that you do not understand, just post a question in the course Q&A section, Rajiv is a very responsive instructor and he is a very nice guy!

I had previously taken Rajiv Professional Bass Masterclass and greatly enjoyed it and learned a lot. That was a course I would highly recommend. This course seemed like a suitable follow-up that expanded without repeating the previous course. This course is a bit different as it's not written exclusively for bassists. This course pulls back for a bigger picture. It's good for guitarists and even composers. It also adds something not found in the Bass class in practice segments. I found this to be particularly useful in terms of ear training. I don't have the best ear. It wasn't developed when I was young. It was interesting seeing where I stood in my listening.

I am half way through the Professional Bass course from Rajiv and am finding it excellent. There was no question in my mind that I would obtain this course to deepen my understanding of music in general.

I have taken The Elements of Music Composition and also enjoyed it. I learned how to express beautiful ideas through the creative art of writing a symphony. The Elements of Music lifts music theory to a whole new level of engaged learning which supports our effort to learn and to achieve. The teaching strategies, using a balance of sounds, colours, shapes and instruments, are highly effective and capture our interest. The practice modules and active learning workbook heighten student participation and the process of reiteration adds clarity to the concepts. The animated characters add a joyful note of success. Thank you, Rajiv, for creating such a great course.

The instructor really makes these courses fun. He puts a lot of energy into making the material very engaging and makes every aspect of learning music interesting and memorable. He adds a lot of personality and quirky charm to the course that draws you into the subject. I have played bass guitar for years but never had the motivation to properly learn music theory. Since following this course I cannot tell you how much my understanding has improved. Bravo
