TypeScript Fast Crash Course (Udemy.com)
An Introduction to TypeScript main components
Created by: Edwin Diaz

What you will learn
- At the end of the course students will be able to use TypeScript
Course Description
TypeScript is a superset of JavaScript, which means that is language that was created to add features to JavaScript. You might be asking yourself why it was created and why not just add those features directly to JavaScript.
Sometimes language foundations take time to implement features because the committee has to approve it, test and get feedback before requests are answered. The solution for that is to create another language that adds functionality to the language we need, and thats where TypesScript comes in.
TypeScript has many advanced features that plain JavaScript doesn't have yet but the good news is that we can start using it now since TypeScript compiles JavaScript ES5 which at this moment is the most compatible version of JavaScript for all browsers.
Most people that want to learn TypeScript its because they need the skills to use with some Frameworks like Angular.
My goal with this courses is just give your the fundamentals of the language, show you what TypeScript is and how to use it. We as developers don't have time neither can we afford to spend too much time on any technology.
Most people that want to learn TypeScript its because they need the skills to use with some Frameworks like Angular.

Overall - well structured. Has several sub sections like 2 min long with 5 sec useful data. Has a lot of 'water' to extend course length. Could be better. If you have 4 hours - take a look at this course. With x2 view speed. What I missed here and what you should google after this course to significant speed up your development and learing: - TS debugging; - TS IDE integrations: auto compile/build project - one button to save/compile/build/run process; - TS config file. What styles to use. Auto refactoring code; - Example of build process. Keeping source (ts) files and compiled (JS) files separate. Build/run/test tasks via package.json file; - TS bootstrapers to create app skeletons with default configs.

This is exactly a crash course. As mentioned in one of the lecture, this if for those who want to overview typescript and move to the framework. And exactly that's what my requirement was. I went through all lectures and quizzes. If found really helpful to me. Thank you for the nice teaching.

This course delivers what it promises. This a crash course but for me matches what I expected, although I learned things that I did not know in a clear manner. I recommend this course to developers, like me that came from the other language like net core c# and they need to see shortly how working. Congratulations to the author. There are interesting topics that I had never seen before in other courses and explained understandably.

Fantastic course. I loved Edwin's motivational speeches at the beginning and end of each lecture, which actually really brightened my learning experience. I would say though, PLEASE NOTE, the course is slightly out of date, specifically with regards to the SystemJS import/export section at the end of the course. To combat this, I used an older version of SystemJS, though it wouldn't be practical in real-world use. Thank you Edwin!

Amazing Course, Easy to understandable examples. Now I can proudly say I am TypeScript developer. I got issue while using systemJs. Because its latest version doesn't have same implementation which you already mentioned in your course. Just an input you can refer users to use same version of systemjs which you are using in course, this will definitely save others time. If someone wants to try the latest version then that is optional for him/her.

Course content was fine, but the videos themselves felt disjointed at times. I think the author could do themselves a favour by creating a script and rehearsing it a couple times. There were a bunch of instances wherein the instructor opted to change their mind last-minute to show some little extra or alternative thing that was unrelated to the video.

An interesting introduction to typescript. I'm new to typescript and it's workings. This course moves at a good pace and gives the required background for it's prerequisites (e.g, javascript, es6 e.t.c.) so you don't have to first go and learn those ones before coming back to this... I think it's something you can just bing! while on a train or on a trip!

Very great course for someone new to the front end technologies. Teaches is from the basics and at the end of the course you really feel like you can handle advance level queries related to the course very well. Keep up the good work. Heading towards other course by you. :)

if you ask me who is the best teacher on udemy i will tell you edwin diaz. He is the best teacher i found online for any course related to web development i have his 8 courses on udemy and i cant tell single course where he is giving less than 100% i will definitely recommend this course to any body who wants to be a good web developer or program or just want to know something about advance javascript or typescript... the most important thing which i found in his courses that he never try to hide his mistakes he do mistake and correct it right away but it helps you a lot in understanding about real world problems and you will remember it when you code yourself sometime he makes an extra video explaining it in which you will meet future edwin. he is not only good in teaching even he is very good man and motivational speaker too because sometimes he say some words which motivate you alot.
