Course Description

Fact: Kubernetes Is still the Most In-Demand Skill Of 2026 In The DevOps IT Industry.

And it looks to be the same again next year.

If you find it hard to keep track of how everything is working together in Kubernetes…

… or you feel overwhelmed trying to understand the fundamental structures of all the Kubernetes objects and how they interact with each other…

I’ve got you covered.

This course is designed to get you straight into action without an endless amount of complex theory and reading.

Hi, I’m TJ Addams.

With nearly 20 years in IT project roles, I spent a lot of time teaching over 96,000+ people on- and offline. So they can become ready to use their skills in production, even without prior experience.

I simplify all the processes new students need to understand. And I provide a clear roadmap on what to learn to produce results fast.

Everything I teach is based on what is used in industry and cutting out what isn’t.

I operated in lead support roles to Project Sponsors, Platform Engineers, Solutions Architects, Developers, and Testers & have worked with UK Government partners to develop real-time systems underpinned by Terraform. I also have operated in diverse sectors including consulting, technology services and digital transformation; private online healthcare; and biomedical research.

This allows me to bring you unique insights way beyond the trivial "hello world" type of examples...

... coupled with lots of demos, tips, and advice on how it’s used in industry. I cover the nitty-gritty to help you stand out from the crowd and learn the things most engineers don't even know about.

Who Else Wants An Understanding Of K8S Concepts The Easy Way?

Discover how to set up your environment to follow along with the exercises. Be able to create and deploy production-ready Kubernetes Clusters and much more…

This course is designed to give you a fast track solution, so you can apply what you learn in under 3.5 hours.

It takes you through creating your first resources from the ground-up and gives a clear picture of how you would use Kubernetes on the job with exclusive insights from a DevOps consultant. By the end of the course you will be a Kubernetes master!

90% Hands-On / 10% Theory / 0% Wasting Time

Like all my other courses, this one focuses heavily on real hands-on experience from the get-go.

So instead of sleep-inducing PowerPoint slides, you’ll get step-by-step video tutorials coupled with quizzes and challenges to get you comfortable with your newly acquired knowledge immediately.

No more overwhelm. No more long hours trying to understand complex theory. No more wasting time.

So even if you’re a Kubernetes beginner who wants to start using Kubernetes for real projects quickly, this is the course for you.

Clear, explains what needs to be explained while focusing on what's important. Best word to describe the courses from Warp 9 Training is "Efficient". I highly recommend it, more-so if you have issues following the 2 500 hours courses that are fairly common on Udemy. His courses provide solid foundations for deeper research. View it as a good scholar course and less like some in depth demo tech explaining every nooks and crannies.

The course is great! Would recommend it for anyone who need to get "just enough" k8s to start feeling capable of diving into more complex topics. At the same time, the course is starting to show its age. Some examples are not 100% functional and require very minor tweaks.

Thank you for your clear and concise explanation of kubernetes. I originally tried to learn k8s from the documentation, but found myself hopelessly confused. Your course saved the day. I understand that I still have much to learn, but you have provided an excellent jump-start.

Great overall coverage. Maybe just a little too fast in some areas... like why some of the "unnecessary" stuff was cut out of the .yaml files. Also, I think there was some Ops-type background that I didn't have and which made a couple things hard to follow. Also, I could not get the minikube network stuff setup properly in the Networking section... not really the course's fault... more of an issue with my env.

This was one of the best course ever on Kubernetes. I am very new to devops, and I really struggled to rap my head around Kubernetes. I am also blind, and find it very difficult to understand concepts by just watching youtube videos on this topic. I was really stressed out, however wen I searched for Kubernetes courses on Udemy and came across TJ Adams as the instructor, I just knew I found the right thing! Previously, I took the terraform course by TJ Adams and I passed my exam on my first go. This guy TJ Adams is a very good instructor. He talks in a way which is very easy to understand, and the way he explains things they just make sense. He also goes at a pace which is very good to keep up with. About the Kubernetes course, I loved every bit of this course. TJ introduced the topics and gradually built upon them. I loved the way how he introduced pods, repliccer sets and deployment and then built on these concepts like adding a service, ingress controller, networking and so on. The aspect I love the most is that this guy has provided a github repo, and clearly points out which folder and file he is using at the start of each lecture. This is so good, because as a blind person I can quickly bring up the code on my machine and read it with my screen reader as TJ Adams explains it. This means I better understand the concepts. Most of the instructors don’t mention what file in which folder they are using for the code in a given lecture, that leaves me hanging on and as I cannot see I cannot see the code they are writing and explaining. TJ Adams, keep up the good job you are one of the few instructors in the online world that makes life easy for blind learners.

I took Warp 9 Training's Docker course and loved it and gave it 5 stars. I was very much looking forward to the same style and quality when I started this Kubernetes course. Unfortunately, I feel like this course fell short and I am sad not to be able to give it 5 stars, as well. This course's resources could use a PDF of common Kubernetes commands and explanations of what they do. I had to take notes as I followed along with each section and create my own document of commands and explanations. This course shows a lot about what to do and what to type, but doesn't always explain what you are doing or why. The diagrams are helpful. I feel like I understand pods, replica sets, deployments thanks to the clear diagram. But there were no yaml files I could download. I had to pause videos and then create my own yaml file and go back and forward in each video to see each complete yaml file. The explanations and examples for Liveness and Readiness were clear and useful. But I never heard a good description of a node and exactly what that means. I had to pause the videos and go online and find explanations for persistent volumes and claims. The course explained how to create them but not what they really were or what purpose they served.

Concise and well constructed courses. The addition of challenges present a way of ensuring you understand the course content rather than the usual multiple answer tests you get at the end of a segment. Unfortunately, I wasn't in a position where I could partake in the AWS portion but I feel more confident going out then I did when I commenced this course. Highly recommended to all!

Fantastic beginner course on Kubernetes. The course respects your valuable time and is very concise and direct with no fluff. It is also very practical and hands-on. Each lecture is bite-sized and very doable. I was able to complete the entire course within a single weekend and learnt about pods, replica sets, deployments, services including ingress and node port, storage classes, persistent store, persistent store claim, config set, nodes, deployment on AWS, draining nodes, and horizontal and vertical pod scalability. I gained a lot of value from this course and recommend it to beginners. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because as of this time in writing a minor number of lectures (2) contain solutions that did not completely work for me since the latest Kubernetes update. Nonetheless the concepts and commands were well explained and I still recommend this course to others.

I think this course covers a number of topics that comes in handy for my day job. It gets to the point for people whose has a busy day job. There are other courses that covers K8 is great detail, e.g. building from scratch. This is great for someone whose job is to do day-to-day application support. As a former systems admin, I would say it is a good starting point.
