Course Description
Hello and Welcome!
I'm your Code Monkey and in THIS course you will learn how to use a lot of the Features and Tools that Unity has.
Unity is massive so there are over 70 lectures on this course each covering a different Tool or Feature.
This is a great way to quickly get up to speed and become familiar with all the Tools and Features Unity has that can make you much better at building your own games.
Learn all about making Shaders in Shader Graph, 3D modelling with ProBuilder, playing Videos with the VideoPlayer
Learn about Visual Scripting, Assembly Definitions, RenderTextures, GridSystem, TextMeshPro, Multiplayer, Localization, Addressables and more.
In this course you will find some features that are part of the engine that you didn't even know about which will greatly help you on your game development journey.
Unity is massive so there are even more features than the ones I covered here, I've been using Unity over 10 years now and even so there's still some I've never used so I need to do extensive research in order to make a lecture.
This course will be updated over time with free updates as I explain more and more Features and Tools.
There's already been 6 free updates, the course launched with 30 lectures and currently has 70+!
Let me know in the Q&A section which ones you're most interested in so I know which ones to prioritize.
Each lecture covers a different Tool or Feature of the engine so that means that each Lecture is standalone.
You can go through the course Lecture by Lecture, or you can jump around and go to each Lecture that covers a Tool that you're specifically interested in.
But my goal with this course is also to expose you to Tools and Features that you might not be familiar with so if you take the approach of jumping between each lecture, make sure you watch the ones you missed in the end.
There might be a feature that you simply don't know about that would help you immensely.
About me, I'm a Professional Indie Game Developer with several successful games published on Steam covering a wide range of genres, I've been Programming for over 20 years and using Unity for over 10.

Curso excelente!

Took me awhile to go through this course, but it does cover most of Unity's general functionality in an easy to follow way, and Code Monkey is a pretty good teacher. I've come away from this feeling I got a pretty good grasp of what I can do with this engine, at least when it comes to the editor, as this course is only about reviewing the Unity Editor (which is does well), and not about teaching you how to use the C# programming language (though Code Monkey has courses on that as well, including on his YouTube channel. A lot of good videos there, and they're free, too). The only issues I had came from instances in which I encountered slight differences in the newer version of Unity I was using (on my computer) versus the older version of Unity that Code Monkey used when he made this course, leading to a few times in which I had to do some research on the Unity Forums (or elsewhere) to figure out how to replicate what he did. And if I had to nitpick, I'd say Code Monkey sometimes gets ahead of himself in a couple of videos and doesn't fully take his time to show what he did to get somewhere, making it a bit hard to follow (though that only happens a few times). However, when I did run into an issue on one of his videos that was giving me a hard time, I asked a question about it in the Q&A section of this course and Code Monkey did actually answer back (despite being likely a very busy guy), and I appreciate that a lot. If you're new to Unity and want to get a feel for the editor, or have been using it awhile and want to make sure there's nothing you haven't overlooked, then I would highly recommend this course.

Pretty good course if you already know the basics and want to really expand your knowledge of what is possible with Unity. For example I went to school for game development and at our end project I saw somebody else that had a trail effect in their project and didn't know it you could easily achieve it with a tool in Unity. Because nobody told me and I never came across it before. In this course you will go over that tool and many more and even if you already know how some of them work, you might learn an extra thing or two.

Recently I finished a couple courses on gamedev and up to now this was the most useful to me. I've got plenty of experience coding for web development and I released a few games on my own, but I really needed a good overview on some key features/tools. The course is perfect for that, it goes directly into exposing the feature/tool without exercises or anything, so is up to you to practice in your own way, to me that's great because there's a bunch I already know so I can just skip those parts or just give it a quick look if I want to.

This is the course that everyone that is learning (or has learned) Unity needs to take. There are a lot of features that I didn't know existed, and that is after taking multiple Unity courses. There were a few things that I knew about, but 90% of the features, I either didn't know, or didn't even know existed. Take this course. It is put together very well, and in a way that you can skip around to specific features that you want to learn about, or go back and rewatch any of them. Thank you!

Code Monkey explains the important features of the Unity engine in this course. There is not much else to say here than: Buy this course if you want to supercharge your Unity skills in the fastest way possible. It's worth the money, and if you'll ever have some "stupid questions" (like me), Code Monkey will answer all of them within 24h usually. I was implementing almost all the features alongside in a tutorial game and sooner than expected, I've even got a full 3D arcade game working that is using all the cool features!

Very useful course. But not is describing all themes the development in Unity. But many interesting rare and useful information, which I didn't see anywhere early. The Instructor have very good language and teaching style (the organization of the stages of lessons and all lessons connect to each others). The lessons is updating regular.

The only thing that could make this course better is more content. Every lesson not only covers a feature, but gives practical examples of how the covered feature is typically used in Unity. This class has easily paid me back in the time it has saved not only learning the features but figuring out how to make use of them. The teacher will casually mention tips and shortcuts that are so valuable. Like OMG using Ctrl-D to get an animation out of a Mixamo fbx so you can rename it (they are all named mixamo.com) or edit it. That alone was worth the cost of the class.

It's an awesome course, a few tweaks would improve it a lot. I guess a better grouping on the lectures would facilitate a lot. It would avoid "I explained this in another lecture, go there and watch it" The second thing. I know that the purpose of this course is to present some techniques and tools to improve our Unity Use. But I missed a thing that would be a notch up. A little more integration between lessons with some more examples. I had a blast on some lessons. The one of the Render Pipelines that teach how to emit light form objects was amazing. But I don't know how to use Textmesh Pro or a proper 3D Text to create a Neon Sign with the lettering. Again, It's an amazing course, must have. It's been 2 years since I started to learn Unity. This course has some lessons that I already know by heart. And some incredible stuff that I didn't know how to implement it.

First, let me thank you for these awesome tutorials, I learned a lot. Now, here's my feedback : The scope of the classes can be a little all over the place. Some very important information is sometimes explained extremely fast, while some pretty seemingly useless stuff can be explained for a long time. Also, some lessons are repeated, for example, there is 2 Shader Graph lesson that explains the same things. Overall though, it's great to learn about possibilities all over. But then again, some subjects are more explained than others. Also, some features should be put in a different order. For example, Game Object Icon Gizmo, Pivot Center or Hierarchy buttons should all be learned before ProBuilder or Visual Scripting. Another example is Animation Vs Animator (Legacy, Mecanim) should be AFTER Animator.
