Understanding & Working With Autistic Clients in Therapy (Udemy.com)

I am enjoying the course. It is good to learn from another person's personal experience of autism, and to think about what I am learning and how it can be related to my own practice to understand each client and how the change a client would like to experience can be facilitated. The pace of teaching is good because facts about what autism is like in experience are given alongside explanation of personal experience which means it is not an overloading experience but interesting to watch and listen to the videos and take on board personally the content.

I really appreciated the course. I gave it 4 stars cause I was looking more for concrete strategies and techniques but this helps with understanding motivation and navigating that when presented with clients with Autism

This course was an amazing journey to understand how to support and encourage individuals with autism to thrive in the counselling room and beyond. I love Dan's ability to share his experiences both as an individual and also as a professional. I have really enjoyed these lectures and learning and they have given me a desire to continue to explore further training to support my autistic clients.

I work for a Mental Health Charity and half of my clients have Autism, I also host an Art group for Adults with Autism. I've found this course very interesting and relatable, the Spectrum is a very large canvas to explore and every insight, is a positive one. Thank you! I will be considering everything that has been said in my daily practice.

Very interesting. I appreciate the speaker sharing their own experiences both as an autistic person and as a provider of services. Covers some basics, but often takes the concept a step further with personal narrative that describes situations beyond the initial understanding you may have had as a listener.

Helpful insights and information. Knowledgeable instructor. Would recommend incorporating more interactive elements to the training (e.g. interactive slides, alter presenter's background, varied aides to enhance learning for various learning styles, etc.) to enhance the learner's experience.

I love this course. It is so helpful hearing from someone who lives this everyday verses someone who has learned all about it. I have 2 autistic kids and I have taken so many workshops and courses to help them the best I can but I will never understand what they are going through. It makes it easier to apply all that I learn to help them when it is coming from someone who actually gets it. I am so thankful for this. Dan is absolutely amazing. The pace is great, info is great and he has made me laugh and almost cry a few times. I truly admire him and all that he is doing and how much help he has been.

Dan is very open and vulnerable about explaining his experience with Autism. This helps the learner to truly understand the course material better. I was able to gain exponentially more understanding about a partner who is very likely on the spectrum. Bravo. The resources for how to get tested is wonderful. I have taken multiple classes from Dan on this platform. I have been incredibly impressed by all of his knowledge and the way he present material.
