Software practitioners have used modeling languages for decades to specify, visualize, construct, and document systems. UML which stands for The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is one of those languages and today UML is the most used standard modeling language for software and systems development. Even though not everyone need to write UML diagrams , Most software practitioners, if not all of them, need to interpret and read diagrams written by others.

UML is used to express software or system requirements, architecture, and design. After taking this course. UML will make it easy for you to communicate technical matters with other developers, analysts, designers, testers and even your clients. So it improve your ability to communicate with others and will also improve your team productivity as it will be easier to use UML to express complicated technical matters with others in much less time.

In this course, I talk about all the different UML diagrams Use cases, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagram and more. I will talk about each of them in detail. You will learn how to read and comprehend any UML diagram and you also learn the important guidelines to build them provided by subject matter experts. We will have workshops to read and build diagrams together. All these can be achieved with little effort just by watching this course.

In this course, we will learn by example, starting by quickly demonstrate some the notations of a diagram then explain in detail the variations of each of those notations. Then will introduce more notations and then discuss them and so on.

When done learning how to read any diagram, We will explain how to build diagrams using those notations and the guidelines that we should follow to use each notations.

Join this course now and I promise that you will be able to read any UML diagram and build neat , quality UML diagrams in no time

Hi there! Generally, it is a good course. I recommend it to beginners - as me. More engaging quizes it would have - not only theory. Sometimes it has a little to much repetitions and is a little too fast. I do recommend, to write down most important sentences, after each lesson, because it helps to retain topics in memory. Beside, it make easier to get used to that specific slang related to diagrams.

I love how examples are explained and how big pictures are shown & then a detailed view is explained ; For me this course gave me a general view and introduced me to the world of UML ; At the university I only heard about UML in the Java course and all what I have known before this was a little about class UML diagrams ; no more & no less ; If you are like me & didn't hear about most of the course content before; This is a great course to take ; the instructor traverse everything in a neat well organized way ; you may need to deepen your knowledge after the course by yourself and to make sure that some concepts set as they should in your mind ; but this is a good place to start from . I am given the 5 starts because for me it was totally new . And I enjoyed the journey .

What I liked Explanation of the diagrams presented. It helped me clear my concepts especially on class diagrams (aggregation, composition, association). I can now use tools that I have to generate diagrams. What I missed Collaboration diagrams Deployment diagrams Component diagrams And discussion of the resources. it would have helped if a lecture was dedicated to each of the diagrams in the resources.

Listen to his direction was place in understand based on premises. Question developed were designed in factories of components for each module especially considering their answers are implicit. However needed to incorporate one flow of modeling language designed to give overall structure for your domain layout.

Take what you need from the course. Not everything is applicable, there is more than one great way to represent whatever you want to represent. The UML notation is great, but you don't have to follow it religiously. The author is great at emphasising all these aspects, which make the course more applicable in the real world.

A comprehensive introduction to UML, giving a good explanation of the important concepts without being difficult to understand or overwhelming. Sometimes I did find the lecturer's accent was so easy to follow so had to hit the rewind button. Also some of the captions didn't match what was being said. Neither of these were major problems and overall it's a very good course.

By Aaron Foster on 10/8/2017

Very thorough explanation of UML modeling! The thoroughness of the course material leads to the course being rather dry at times, but I'd rather a course be thorough and dry rather than engaging but lacking in content. Obviously both would be preferred, but that's why I'm giving four stars rather than five.

By Christopher Olson on 7/23/2017

Well done. Good explanation of the fundamentals of UML, but certainly is not "complete" as the title implies. This course is great for stakeholders that want to understand the basics of UML. For system designers/developers, they'll need something more comprehensive. I would recommend the author align future UML courses with the OMG UML certifications. There's plenty of room in the market for an eLearning UML course or series of courses!

By Markos Gerges on 7/17/2017

The course content is good, however there should be pdf files of all his formal definitions of UML diagrams. Also, there needs to be more examples! There is only one example using Umlet to make a User Diagram but, there needs to be more examples using Umlet to make class diagrams, state transition diagrams etc.. learn by example not by just giving definitions!

By David Lee on 2/9/2017

I really do like the course content. Its organized well and I can understand what is being said. While I do know and used UML, this tutorial has brought in a few insights I never thought before. So I do recommend this course for its content. What I REALLY don't like is the injection of the pointless and annoying pictures and animations of the people. They are shocking transitions for those focused on the material. For example, when studying the Class Diagram a startling picture of a woman's face and her colleagues paints the entire page suddenly. Why add these types of things?
