Good course, but instructor goes too fast. It is like he is competing in talent show, not teacher. He will say "ok, now we will do this" then his fingers go bibibibibibi tatatatatata and you will make the mistake of blinking (I did this mistake too) and the entire script will be done. Then before you process what happen, he will clap his hands and say "bazinga, see you in the next one" and the lesson is over.

Absolutely fantastic course! This course is incredibly well-structured and easy to follow. It breaks down complex topics like client prediction, lag compensation, and server authority in a way that’s clear and approachable — even if you're new to multiplayer development. The explanations are practical, straight to the point, and backed with real examples. I’ve tried learning multiplayer networking before and always felt overwhelmed, but this course made everything click.

The author demonstrates a solid understanding of the subject, and the information provided is highly valuable. However, I often found myself wishing for more insight into why certain actions were taken, rather than just an explanation of what was being done. Additionally, the video editing could be improved; it frequently cuts and jump for ward during crucial moments, such as when typing, and quickly scrolls away from the text when it is complete, which forced me to constantly rewind, replay, and pause. A similar issue arises with the UI—it almost seem like a few milliseconds are cut during the movement, making it difficult to follow as the mouse just jumps from one place to another. While it's important to keep the video concise, taking a few extra seconds to slow down and clearly explain steps would significantly enhance the learning experience.

This is the most complete tutorial I have found on getting up and running with multiplayer games. Just looking at examples was not enough for me, you are walked through step by step and given explanations on what each thing is doing which is tremendously helpful. You really touch most common areas of a traditional multiplayer game so I think I will be prepared to get into my own game soon.

It is a very good course for beginners, and it's a great start for working with Unity. The explanations are clear, and the instructor explains every important detail. Not only that, but he also explains how the theoretical part is applied in practice. I highly recommend this course to anyone who has a vague idea of how Unity works and doesn't know where to get started. This is a very good course to start with! Good luck!

Good course covering all the fundamentals of Photon Fusion. It is clear that the author has a very strong understanding of the framework. However I have some notes: 1. The speed of the videos was way too fast, as a seasoned programmer I had it at 0.75 and I still had to pause it every few seconds to make sure I caught what was going on. 2. Fix the volume, its all over the place.

It's understood that a course on a specific Unity topic like this requires you to have a very solid understanding of Unity itself. This is especially true in this case. Simply be advised that the author goes very quickly, and you can blink and miss important details. He really does go at a fast clip. I was constantly pausing the video, replaying sections, studying his screen, and so on. That being said, this course gives you a very solid understanding of Fusion. For me, the course is essential because I find the fusion documentation to be less than adequate. The author also takes the time to explain Fusion very well as he goes along. He even takes the time to deliberately create bugs, explain them, and then fix them. Very, very nice indeed.

Above and beyond. Oren provides a full, step-by-step breakdown of networking ideas and implementations to create a full multiplayer game with Photon Fusion. The art, UI, and FX are all pre built so no time is wasted implementing anything that is irrelevant to the course focus. By the end you will have comfortability with solid networking concepts and techniques used here to build a multiplayer game of your choice, with the code in the video as reference. Not to mention the discord, which is very active. For $200 this would be a great deal. At this price it's a no-brainer. Great job Oren.

Let’s start with the positives: 1) The instructor is awesome! He really knows his stuff and his coding skills are exceptional. With many Udemy courses, I end up re-writing classes and methods, and find it hard to finish the course because it is just a re-hash of someone else’s work, or the instructor's coding skills are poor. This course is worth the money and your time to just learn good, solid coding principles. 2) I liked the instructor’s pacing. The instructor did not waste time explaining the basics or making you create UI and prefabs that are just laborious tasks in a ‘learning’ course. He focused his time on coding and teaching the principles of creating a networked game. 3) The game works as advertised. Is it a fully fleshed out game that you could publish, no. There is still a lot that would need to be done with stats, sound, menu systems, etc. However, the networking part is there, and I learned a lot. The negatives: 1) Although not a negative, I want to point out that this is not a beginner course. Do not be fooled by the basic artwork and simple look of the game. In the course outline it does state that you should be an “intermediate” Unity developer and have a bit of experience with creating multiplayer (networked) games. I agree! 2) The recording volume of the course could be better. I had to use my headset at times to “clearly” hear what the instructor was saying. 3) I finished the course, and I did learn a lot. Do I feel I could now turn around and make an on-line game without assistance – not even close. Networking is hard, especially, when trying to incorporate client prediction and lag compensation. So, I would say do not have expectations that you will learn everything there is to learn from this course. However, the instructor did a great job in explaining and incorporating the fundamentals. In conclusion, I think the course was great – primarily due to the instructor. I look forward to his next class. I hope it is a non-networked game so I can just learn from his coding style. 4.5 stars (dinged for recording volume and at times spoke a bit fast) – well worth your time - excellent course!!

The Udemy course I took focused on creating a basic real-time game. it didn't cover more advanced issues such as late joining or advanced matchmaking. However, I enjoyed the theoretical part of the course where the instructor explained the workings of online games in detail. However, in my opinion, the course was conducted a bit too quickly. Although it was possible to understand everything, it was somewhat exhausting. I missed interactive tasks, participant questions, and time for reflection. The course mainly focused on demonstrating the steps to follow. Despite these shortcomings, I believe the course was helpful in understanding the concepts of online games and served as an interesting introduction to the Fusion engine. Thanks to this course, I gained a solid foundation in real-time game development and a better understanding of how online games function.
