The course was really good and thought me a lot, I will definitely be using the knowledge I gained when I try to do something in Unity by myself! The only thing I would say could be done better, is that I actually had some problems understanding some of the nodes we used, so my tip would be that anytime we learn about a new node, maybe a slide about how it works and even better a sole visual demonstration would be appreciated. Oh and maybe I would like for it to be a bit longer, maybe going over more effects, but even like this we got a lot of great tips. Even without that, I still learned a lot and I thanks you very much!

I'm only up to Section 2, but the explanations are very clear, and I'm really starting to get a decent handle on this. I've been working in game dev for a while now and shaders were pretty much a black box that produces magic output. Taking this course, I'm starting to understand how some of the different "magic" I've seen from shaders in the past works under the hood, and that it's something we can design and control with relative ease.

"It is my personal belief that shaders are the most obnoxious and frustrating part of making a video game. I have spent countless hours on random forums, YouTube videos, and everything else under the sun trying to understand shaders. This is the first time it all just makes sense to me. Overall, it's a wonderful course. I couldn't possibly express how many hours of my life this has saved me."

Going through the course was excellent, but the speaker was flying through the topics and not explaining what/why we used specific nodes. Also, some challenges at the beginning asked me to use things we had never touched on beforehand. It would be better to watch what needs to be done first, then challenge ourselves to recreate what we were shown.

Mr. Kurhan has adeptly curated an extraordinary educational resource elucidating the intricacies of special effects through shader graphs on Unity. Commencing with the rudiments of UV animation, progressing seamlessly into the integration of blending procedural noise textures, and culminating in the masterful construction of a captivating water effect, his instructional prowess is truly exemplary. Mr. Kurhan demonstrates fluency and exhibits world-class instructional capabilities throughout the course. I earnestly propose a sequel, wherein he delves into the creation of shader effects through programming as a complement to Unity graphs. This course is indispensable for those aspiring to comprehend the artistry behind crafting beautiful shader effects for their applications.

Knew absolutely zero about shaders going in, mainly just used assets and didn't understand why/how they worked, which is never ideal for anything you use. Now, halfway through this course and it's really starting to make sense, even to the point I am making my own shaders in my game!

A little fast at times, (used the pause and rewind a lot lol) but very in depth and clearly explained methods to create some cool effects, as well as how to use the shader graph in Unity (I'm coming from Unreal, so it's very different). Great course!

This is one of the most difficult courses I've taken on Unity, but also one I've enjoyed immensely. It's definitely a course designed to stretch your abilities and although it would have been nice for some additional visual explanations of the math, that's not the purpose of this course so I can't complain too much. The Dynamically Deformed Snow was the highlight for me as this is a new technique I haven't seen up to this point and the Water section is pretty amazing too. I can think of an application for all the shaders in the course.

I was excited to see a brand new GameDevTv Shader Graph course. The timing was perfect, it was something I'd been meaning to get into over Christmas anyway. Well, I finished this course and maybe I'm dumb but I still just really don't feel competent in Shader Graph. For the record, this is coming from someone who's completed the recommended prerequisite GameDevTv math course. The course is fast paced so be prepared to relentlessly pause and rewind if you want to follow along even at just 1x speed. Nodes and values will often be off screen immediately after they're entered which makes for a frustrating learning experience even though the instructor does their best to narrate their actions. The shaders created in the course are also very "conceptual" for a lack of a better word. They illustrate certain concepts decently but I wouldn't actually use any of these (with the exception of maybe the water shader) in an actual game. Pretty disappointing overall.

This course is great, I am working with Unit for almost 2 years now but I have never looked into Shader Graph before. This course is a great introduction and Liam is a great instructor.
