There is some very good information in this course, however it is often based on outdated engine information and many of the lessons reference sample assets that simply no longer exist. Despite closely following the lesson plans, a number of game breaking bugs were created and there is not a great way to troubleshoot many of them as they only appear quite a while after the initial problems become foundational aspects of the subsequent product. The lessons are nonetheless helpful, and cover a wider variety of subjects than many beginner courses. I would recommend this course, but not as a first entry into Unreal, but as a good refresher course for those already able to troubleshoot issues on their own. If the course materials were updated to reflect the changes to the engine, I would rate it higher.

AMAZING COURSE MY GAWD BEST 20 BUCKS I HAVE SPENT ON LEARNING UNREAL ENGINE 5. HECK, STILL WORTH IT EVEN AT FULL FAKE PRICE TOO! ALSO DIDN'T HAVE TO DOWNLOAD TERABYTE OF STUFF TO DO A SIMPLE STUPID TUTORIAL AND EVERYTHING MORE OR LESS JUST "WORKED" WITH NO RANDOM MISSING HOLES IN CONTENT (UNLIKE SOME OTHER TUTORIALS...) (Just some quick comments: you should make the course resources easier to find and upload directly to Udemy. I was able to find my own anyways as most the meat was on the Unreal Marketplace. Also, I recommend adding packaging section for Clone Strike too.)

If you want to learn about Unreal Blueprint Scripting I think this course is definitely be in my top two Blueprint Courses. (The other being Greg Wonda's intro to game design) So excellent company!! . By far the thing I took away from this course is how the author structured it. The use of parent / base classes then creating sub classes, the use of interfaces and by far the best description of how to use them. And the author takes time to explain the WHY we are doing it this way be it for better optimisation or for some other reason. The Author is very active on the Q&A and during my numerous questions he took the time to answer all my questions in detail. I Really can not recommend this course enough.

Here are my pros and cons. Pros: Pixel has a nice voice that does not get annoying Cons: It takes WAY to long to do the ball one in compare of other ones. Gets extremally boring after awhile. A better course thats FREE will teach you most of these things WAY faster. Link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF_ue_ea-VTqm19NwgVCWmPh86NOM6US5

This was a pretty good course and I feel like I learned some new things. To the future students of this course, make sure you join the Discord and @J1NX (the course instructor) in the course questions channel. You will get a response in there. Sometimes you have to wait a few days, sometimes you get a reply on the same day. Also do read the comments on the lectures, as there is sometimes important information that other students have found out regarding the course. To the course instructor: Try to remember to verbally explain everything you do. That way, when us students are not looking directly at the video because we're working on something in the course, we can still follow along. For example if you have to create a variable, and plug it in to another node, instead of saying "Create a variable, call it (name) and plug it into here." you should say "Create a variable, click on it and press F2 to rename it and call it (name), then click and drag it out onto the graph, choose get and then plug it into the (name of node) node." It would just make it so much easier to follow along, rather than having to stop what I'm doing, pause and rewind the video and watch it again. Other than that, I know life gets busy, but please continue to try to respond as quickly as you can to questions in Discord. Over all, I would recommend this course.

The course delivered much more content and value than I expected initially. I learned a lot of useful and essential skills, and most importantly, best practices for blueprint communication. To be able to use clean and structured code with runtime performance in mind is very important. I will be able to build upon the skills I learned in this course, I absolutely recommend the course, especially for newcomers. Another positive thing is that the instructor is teaching to build a full prototype with main menu and sound effects, these are very important details to have, especially for beginner game developers who just started out on this whole journey. Some updates regarding the animation retargeting for Unreal 5 would be nice to have in the course.

Thanks a lot for this great course ! Here you will find all the basics a beginner needs to ask himself the good questions to get better. Very well explained and developed. You extremely rarely do things without understanding what. Even if the games at the end are not incredible experiences in term of gameplay (I mean, we're not exactly recreating Doom with CloneStrike), this course gives you the most important thing needed to create : autonomy. I loved to pause the lessons and try to guess what the teacher would do next (and, sometimes, success). During the last lessons, I was SO impatient to finish the course, because I had many ideas to improve the games on my own and to apply what I learned to my own projects. I had much pleasure and fun completing it :) ! If I may, there's one point that could be improved tho : it's rare but sometimes M. Nafei said something and then comes back on it, because there's a better way to do it or because he missed something. That's a bit annoying when you're taking notes, and when you've paused the learning process for a while. At least it learns that there are many ways to complete the same coding goal, and about what optimization means. Finally, icing on the cake, know that the teacher is really willing to help and is active for his community. Each time I had a problem, he made himself available and gave good advices or solutions. Thank you ! I'm now heading to the 2D Multiplayer Game course. Zoe / Sloe.

This course is amazing! Moustafa did a wonderful job of teaching the basics of creating games with the Unreal Engine. Explanations were clear and easy to understand. Learning was fun since we created actual games. And last but not least, I really loved that throughout the entire course, I really got the impression that the reason we were being taught to do things a certain way, come from years of practical experience on Moustafa's side. Honestly, if I could wish for anything, I'd love to see more courses of the same kind, i.e. creating complete games while learning about (more advanced) game mechanics. :) (Maybe something like a city/farm builder for base building and management mechanics or a horror game/walking simulator for advanced lighting and cutscenes? Haha, just my imaginary wishlist. :D ) Anyway, thank you some much for the course, Moustafa!

Very good teacher, but the biggest problem is he does things very fast and I have to keep pausing the video. Also, when he is going through the blueprint sections, he doesn't always really explain why you need to do certain things. He does explain some things, but other he glosses over. Like why I need to make Interface Blueprints. It could just be me cause I come from a background of Unity C# and GameMaker Studio. All in all, he's a very good teacher, and I do recommend this for people wanting to jumping in to UE5.

I really enjoyed this course! I already knew how to develop and how to make a game, but I've never used Unreal Engine 5 blueprints before, so this was a new world for me. Usually people are really scared about Unreal Engine 5, and I was not an exception, but after this course I feel confident about creating my own contents without fear. Furthermore, I really liked that the teacher went beyond the beginner level, teaching a little bit about animation blend and how to handle rigs, topics that typically are skipped in entry level courses. I would recommend it to everyone who want to learn Unreal Engine 5.
