Adobe InDesign CC Tutorial - Beginners to Advanced Tutorial (Udemy.com)

Very disappointed.. Till now Jeff is not implementing the things... but only saying out the terms and which are not known to layman person. It is more about the settings and other stuff not about how to create... and also he has pre-made templates for every explanation which makes things confusing... so to be precise... it is not simplified, non-interactive and boring.. which makes a person loose interest to learn... Youtube tutorials are better than this

As other reviewers have mentioned you will need to listen at 1.5 or 2x speed. Don't be afraid, it makes him sound normal. Very basic information which is fine if that's what you are looking for. There are a few super nerdy features that he covers to give the course it's "Advanced" title but it's much better for a beginner. If you have any previous knowledge you will breeze through this course super fast.

It would be helpful to me to see how some things are CREATED. For example, in the object lessons I just watched, the teacher talks about layers, but the layers are already set up in the LAYER panel. I need to know how to set up a group of objects in the Layer Panel. That is precisely why I'm watching all the lessons, and so far, after 4, this doesn't exist!

The instructional pacing is excellent, instructions are clear and progressive...only comment would be to add a little more review material, integrating new material with previously covered subjects....I recognize I can redo the lessons, but a bit more reenforcement of earlier skills would be helpful...Overall excellent course!

Jeff knows a lot about the InDesign tools and thoroughly instructs how to use the different tools in a number of different ways, so it is really helpful for all types of users (mouse clickers, keyboard shortcut users, panel users, so on and so forth). I learned a lot of valuable information that will significantly cut down on the time I'll spend trying to learn the software while also designing (I had a bad habit of doing that with Illustrator and Photoshop). I will say, however, that there is a lot of information overlap and repetition, so after a while, it can get a little tedious. I'm not sure if that's because I'm decently well versed in other Adobe programs, so it was just a matter of understanding the differences or if it is actually tedious. I think if you are good with understanding new programs in general, it will seem repetitive. Additionally, it is VERY instructional, which I happened to enjoy in the first half of the course, but slowly got bored by it. Worth taking note in case that's not what you're looking for. Also, this is not a course for anyone looking for tips on modern design. It is strictly a "how to use this program" course. Much of the photos and colors used in the work-a-long files are dated, which doesn't matter too much when it comes to learning the program, but it is, again, something to take note of if you're looking for that in particular. I didn't find there was much information that really hit the "advanced" portion as advertised in the name of the course. Maybe I don't give myself enough knowledge credit, but I don't feel like anything in the course was really all that advanced, but that, of course, is subjective. Lastly, Jeff is quite engaging and funny at points, but he speaks VERY slowly. I had the video speed at 1.5x for most of the beginning content when I was learning the program and at 2x when it started to get repetitive and I was still able to understand and retain the information. Overall it is a good course to get the foundation needed to start InDesign projects. However, I will probably still be YouTubing "how to's" when it comes to more modern approaches to design.

This was a FanTASTic course and I haven't even Bought it yet. I took the course because I've been making most of products (most notably a newsletter for my AMVETS Post) in MS Publisher. I wanted to raise the quality of my product and eliminated a step for my printer to import to Id from Pub to keep costs down. When I finished just the First Few lessons, I was astounded by the improvements and timesaving features the are at least 3 orders of magnitude in levels of professional quality over MSP. The instructor is fun to listen to, he provides many examples of why you would use the tools, and he is very thorough in covering the aspects of HOW to use the tools. He speaks clearly, he tells you what keys he uses to accomplish whatever step he's performing, and once again, he's fun to listen to. I hope this guy offers more classes, because I'll take them. Excellent instructor delivering useful content in a fun and engaging way.

I am finding the information given in these video lessons very informative and have learnt so much more than other tutorials that are either video or book based. The instructor is very easy to undestand and works at a sensible pace to enble you to follow along and take in what is being said/shown.

It was a very clear, and detailed course. I would purchase it again. I would've preferred that it did not teach you methods, which it then states aren't the best way to do something, a bit of a waste of brain space. I also would've liked the last lesson to be a culmination of all that was taught--with perhaps a document build using as many elements from the lessons as possible. But all in all, very good.

To coin a phrase :-) AN excellent course for the beginner. From basic to more advanced this course covers all of the steps in easy to follow steps with numerous short lectures. The lecturer speaks slowly and clearly which makes the learning a pleasurable experience. Well done - highly recommended.
