Essential Skills for Designers - Masking (Udemy.com)

Like many designers today I work with multiple disciplines and numerous applications. I need to be proficient and current with each. Over the decades I've honed my skills at finding exceptional instructors. This guy is world class.

At first the course seemed informative, but as soon as we've learned the basic tools and enter into theoretical application of masks, I feel super frustrated that I spent money on this course. The instructor doesn't walk you through his work flow, rather he shows you at the work that he's already completed and assumes that from staring at the work he ALREADY COMPLETED you're going to understand how he got there. The understanding that you're able to garner from his teaching only applies if you have a solid understanding of masks already, which would enable you to look at the finished compositions and deductively understand what happened in order to get there. Complete waste of time this course .

As a beginner, this course is really great for more better understanding and focus on masking techniques. It helps me to understand the essential parts of masking details in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign both used in Pixel and Vector based layers. I will keep on coming back in this course to review techniques if I forget something. Thanks so much Martin for creating this individual course.

This guy is brilliant when it comes to creative design. I'm not even in graphic design, I am an architecture major trying to learn skills for my post-production presentations and he still provides an insane level of detail and instruction that I will most definitely be adapting to use on my projects and designs.

Very straight forward and helpful. A bit too many short cuts used and I would have liked to know the non-shortcuts methods to become familiar first. Did not quite understand the difference for using a pixel mask vs. a vector mask. I will look for more courses from this instructor.

Excellent Course Value for money, I learned a lot and enjoyed every lecture in this course. Easy to understand very detailed and to the point. As you finish each lecture it gets more and more interesting and learn new techniques and approach. I've been using Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign for many years in my graphic design business, but this course is a great way to touch up and improve skills. I'm fairly certain that if I was a complete newbie with these programs I would have easily been able to follow along and build some incredibly versatile skills! Thanks for the great course!

Great course with clear instructions that are easy to follow using the images provided. I've struggled for a long time to get an understanding of masks and this course has finally cleared the fog.

This is an excellent course that covers the topic succinctly and thoroughly. If you want to master masking, this is the course to take. I'll be checking out some of Martin's other courses.

I've been using Photoshop for years and have never understood the full potential of masking techniques. Thank you for sharing your expertise in such easy to understand steps.
