Android Architecture Masterclass (Udemy.com)

I think the title of the course doesn't quite fit the content, perhaps: "Some Code Architectures for Android Apps" could be more appropriate.

As another course from Vasiliy the course was high quality and well explained. I must say some of the lectures could feel a bit repetitive but I think this is a case where (using jazz slang) repetition legitimizes. I feel obliged to say, the content shows its age a bit, now a day when you talk about android development Kotlin and Google's ViewModels are what's "standard", so having this content with Java and talking about MVC could be somewhat jarring. That said, I don't think this takes any value to the course because the knowledge here goes beyond languages and frameworks. What it does is leave some homework to use developers to try to analyze ViewModels and how they fit in this scheme, if they fit at all, honestly I don't know, maybe Vasiliy could ad something talking about it to point us newcomers in the right direction.

Vasiliy's an amazing teacher. He approaches different subjects on a very simplistic manner and starts to construct on them with gradually higher difficulty. This immensely helps to keep us interested and focused while learning difficult concepts such as Software Architecture. I also appreciated the fact that common Android problems were included, such as Dialogs and Permission handling, and an overview on how those problems would be solved using correct architecture. Finally I'd like to say that it takes a lot of courage to make a whole course about MVC being the best architecture for Android while Google's fully supporting MVVM - but you did it very well, big up for constructive criticism ;) . Congratulations and I'm looking forward to see your next courses!

This course is amazing. It gets right to the heart of what and why and all demonstrated with a real world example. I've definitely become a better developer because of it. Also, the info is compact. I was reluctant to get it because it's not many hours of material, relatively speaking, but actually this is a full course's worth of information and I didn't have to sit through endless hours of material. I've read a lot of material on software architecture and it's always felt a bit abstract, but I really grasped the meaning of it here. Highly recommended!

I have completed almost all of Vasiliy's courses and would not hesitate to purchase or recommend any new ones he releases in the future. I had reservations about his solid course but after researching many additional sources on the subject I think that he did a great job covering a tough and abstract topic. From this course specifically, I gained much. This course helped me to solidify a lot of philosophical knowledge and put it into practice. I may choose a different approach down the line but I see numerous benefits to applying what I've learned to my projects and feel that I have gained some insight on a topic I've struggled with. Great job Visiliy and keep up the good work!

I am a subscriber of Vasiliy's blog and I do like the thorough explanation he sticks to. As usual, many questions arose and many techniques were exposed. I've already introduced MVC and DI patterns in my full-time project and very grateful for the gained knowledge. One of my interesting observations is that MVC helped to greatly reduce the number of merge conflicts in that project (while 2-4 developers working on the project at the same time). For me this was the very best indicator that MVC works and that decoupling is indeed introduced. Thank you very much.

Course was evenly paced but it had lot of coding to be done. This course focuses on MVC, and Observer Patterns. Reading about them should be mention in prior reading. Further, Android Studio (and even IntelliJ Idea) require a lot or RAM to build, run (using emulator). I had to work in late night to do coding and after completing my course, I will do read the bookmarks again and practice. I wish there could some editor, so that practice can be done fast enough. Most of persons don't have 8 or 16GB RAM in systems for practice.

I took all Vasiliy's courses and I can say they are great. In this course Vasiliy gives great advice and examples about the MVC pattern, but I would have liked to see even more complex examples about the other layers of the android applications. Personally I have a hard time finding good resources about how use case/repository pattern should be used in android applications. How should use cases be chained, can a use case have another use case as dependency, when we should add repository to our application are difficult topics and sadly this course doesn't seem to shed any light in that direction.

The course is the de facto course and approach to build easily maintainable and robust Android applications. Vasiliy is a great teacher too (the best that I've had so far) and with his incredible humbleness and professionalism he's always ready (and really quick) to answer or debate on questions/suggestions or even content requests from the community. This is the third course that I've taken with him I've bought all of them (even the just released about SOLID. Can't wait to start it!) and I strive to see more new stuff coming from him. Such a great and talented teacher!

It is beautiful. really beautiful. I have been reading various architecture methods for the past 6 months, tried them, got painful with some. This course here manages to consolidate all that I know and paints me quite a full picture of what was going on for all the disjoint articles I was reading. You should go through this course first before your next project - and your coding life will be happier with rainbows and unicorns with ocassional showers of chocolates, sweets, spice and everything nice. Ok I am being a bit dramatic.. But really at a point, maybe 20% into the course, it is like a rainbow appearing above my laptop.
