Android Fundamentals: Ultimate Tutorial for App Development (Udemy.com)

Very useful class! It really does give you the "Android Fundamentals". I learned more in this course than another 12-hour course that was supposed to teach Android "from scratch" but ended up not being nearly this informative, yet also too complex. Of course, as a beginner, a lot of this went over my head. There is no way that a normal person can soak up all of this information by just watching this course once. However, the videos are named and laid out in such a way that this can become a reference for the future, so if you ever find yourself needing to access a device's camera, well, you can find some information about it here, even if you didn't remember anything from that section the first time around. The only thing better (for me as a beginner) would be to spend some more time with the basics, and reiterate the basics more even in later lessons, so earlier information can be better soaked up through multiple exposures. Overall, though, this is an awesome course that people should check out!

I like the step by step method he uses. It is however, very difficult to follow at the rate at which he is going when he might have even 15 lines of text & or options on screen and makes no use of a pointer or shadowing or other device to easily recognize what is being selected or where it would be found. If someone is already familiar with the options (not for those just learning) then it would be ok, but for novices, it would be good to use a pointer/highlighting to make it easier to follow. That would be worth a 4.5 ot 5.

Do not expect to be able to write an app after this course. It is basically a high level discussion on the features available to the android developer. Consists mainly of someone reading verbatim from power point slides and spending no more than a few minutes per major topic. For an overview it is OK, and there are some good generic examples. To actually see an app created from start to finish look elsewhere.

It's really great if you already have experience in programming and want to grasp basic android programming really quick. Everything is well organized, the examples are simple to understand and the voice flows at just the correct speed. I'm really satisfied with this course but again it's for someone who already knows programming and is in a hurry like me to learn android asap.

I would like to see more coding while the course is going on, not just an image of the code and run the app. It´s better if the teacher codes and explain every line to the student, the student can code at the same time and practice a lot more.

This is my first time learning using a paid service, and I am so glad that I enrolled in this course. The contents are well defined and provide a good base for those who want to boost their android development skills.

This course is excellent for beginners to android and programming in general. The instructor is very knowledgeable, covers important and relevant topics comprehensively and extensively. His explanations for each topic are broken up into manageable modules and are very easy to understand. I recommend this course to anybody that is just starting Android development, and even those more seasoned developers will surely pick up some helpful tidbits along the way.
