Apache Kafka for Event-Driven Spring Boot Microservices (Udemy.com)

Great course for getting hands-on with Kafka and event-driven microservices. I really enjoyed this course. The pace is well-balanced and progressive, which made it very approachable even without prior Kafka experience — each section builds naturally on the previous one. I especially liked the sections on the Saga design pattern. Beyond that, it does a great job covering the practical side of building with Kafka — setting up a multi-broker cluster, working with producers and consumers in Java, and handling real-world concerns like idempotency and error recovery. A solid mix of theory and hands-on practice for anyone getting started with event-driven microservices.

Haven't finished the tutorial yet. I'm already halfway there and with Spring Boot background, I tend to skip a lot and just proceeded to use Kafka. All I needed was understand Kafka theoretically and it's been a huge help explaining to me how it works.

Sergey explains the topics very clearly and easy to understand. His methodolgy with hands-on exercises makes the learning contents get deep-rooted. I also liked the pace the topics are presented: simply short and direct. This made the learning process to me very objective and effective. For me, the course has been perfect.

The teaching style of Apache Kafka with a Spring Boot application is really good. I had a proper understanding of the Kafka-Spring Boot integration. A couple of things to be improved: 1. The source code should be hosted on GitHub 2. There should be complete notes covering some important points. This helps the students to revise.

Amazing course. All concepts explained properly. Also only explained what is needed without gettting into too much deep or boring students with jargons and all. Presentations are also good and easy to understand

Excellent course for beginners/experienced persons

I believe that the course is very helpful understanding the concepts of Kafka. The tutor is very analytical and explains everything thoroughly, which helps understanding how Kafka works.

Transactional Outbox pattern could be included in the course. Section 19 has very repetitive content. Section 16 leaves the impression that database operations and Kafka exchanges can be run in a single transaction together, but Kafka does not support distributed transactions / 2PC protocol. Core Kafka topics are otherwise introduced thoroughly. Idempotent producers and consumers are explained very well.
