New Mac user - this was very helpful. A pdf or some kind of cheat sheet would be helpful as a takeaway. I liked how the instructor built on prior teaching, but so much new (to me) at once, I forgot what he just told me. To be fair I was following along on my own Mac to try and lock in the learning, but a lot of pause and back ups for me. Might not be the same for others though.

As a lifelong Windows and Linux user who has just received her first MacBook last week after starting a new position, I'm extremely grateful for this course. I don't fell like a superuser yet, but I feel much more confident knowing how to do simple things and how to customize the device for doing tricky things. Highly recommend the course to everyone who is just starting with iOS

I have been a proficient Windows user since many years ago, and a few months back I decided to buy my first MAC mini. I was very excited to learn a new operating system and after a few weeks of trying it, I was still feeling slow, clumsy, lost, I was thinking the whole time “in windows I would do this in a couple of seconds”. Then I decided to take this course and now that I've completed it, I feel much more proficient and confident using macOS. I am saving huge amounts of time compared to how I was working before. The investment in this course has definitely been worth it.

I'm pretty good with Windows but new to Mac. This course was a good intro for me. There are 2 areas I'd like more on. The first is an in depth explanation of using iCloud and NAS (eg Synology). The second is an explanation and pros and cons of using various linking methods for peripherals - Monitors, trackpads, keyboards and mice eg, wifi, bluetooth and HDMI. I'm using a Mac mini with a 3rd party mouse, keyboard and monitor.

mostly. key and function shortcuts very helpful -I would like info on the 'apple glossary' as I had to look up apple terms/names during this- maybe a link or summary somewhere at the end? apple lingo can be very unclear sometimes. also is there an easy way I can print the notes I saved for me? thanks - some of the apps you opened i could not see the icons or where you found them e.g. text editor and script editor

Some amazing tips, thank you. I have always wondered, and maybe one day will do Administer a network with both Mac and Windows systems on it. I would like to see something on writing scripts (can the actions be recorded? or do you need to know the exact test to write?) that can be read in a shell script - so by Windows and Mac. If someone does not know how to copy paste, or struggles to open their bookmarks and files in the morning, teaching them to automate or script is not the solution. More realistic advice would be to practice typing on 10fastfingers.com until their typing speed at least 50 or 60.

As a primarily MS Windows user, this course has been a great introduction for me. Having just started a job in a mainly MAC environment it has helped me learn some tricks and shortcuts for things I was struggling with. The "How to resize images using Automator" has been a real boon. I wish this was available in Windows. Resizing images is really tedious in Windows. This was so easy and quick. Having been introduced to Apple script, I'm now going to investigate creating a script to do it, as well as other tedious tasks that could be run in a script. Thank you

This is not a comprehensive course - as you can of course imagine from the length of the course. But the good thing about this course is that it's packed with all very useful tips and tricks. Throughout the course there's absolutely no time wasted; Every minute I followed along, I learned something new. As a beginner Mac user this course helped me a lot. If you're someone who won't want to invest too much time into an OS warm up course, this course would be perfect for you.

Grant is the rare instructor who can speak eloquently, deliberately, still sound interesting and keep you engaged as a listener. I wish it was a little more in depth on the technical aspects like scripting, and automation and less in depth on the basics. It feels like over half the course is dedicated to hotkeys, and maybe 1/3rd of it is on the thing I actually was hoping to hear about. Never the less, it was a great intro to apple scripting. Here's to having more in depth material from Grant in the future.
