Course Description
You want CAD solids with real dimensions, then a picture that does not fight the scale. This course is FreeCAD for the model, Blender for materials and cameras, Twinmotion when you want a real-time view.
Draft and refine parametric architectural CAD in FreeCAD. Export, clean the mesh in Blender, UV map, apply PBR materials, set cameras, light with a real sun position, and render. GIS and map data can sit under the building. Unit scale is part of the work: millimetres in CAD, metres in Blender, scale the import not the world.
Useful if you are leaving AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp and want a free path.
What you work through

Thanks for the time and effort it took you to put this course together. Some suggestions: 1) update the course to the new FreeCad interface 2) please consider teaching with multiple small projects. Long sessions on GUI exploration and detailed explanations followed by a single big project made the course less enjoyable and less effective than others. Ref. to both FreeCad and Blender. You surely have a deep knowledge on the subject, by improving also the transmission of that knowledge you would get 5 star. I would be also ready to bet your average would be reaching 4.9.

I truly appreciate your course, "Architectural CAD & 3D Rendering – FreeCAD & Blender for Beginners." As someone who has recently developed an interest and is starting a career in architecture, with the aspiration of working exclusively with FreeCAD and Blender, I find this course refreshing and unique. It's rare to come across a course that focuses solely on these tools, as most rely on SketchUp or other paid software. Your course perfectly matches my needs, and I haven't found anything like it elsewhere. Thank you!

So far I'm getting familiarized with the style of the course. As I'm a newbie in FreeCad I need more time to make a fair and more relevant judgement.

Now that I have completed 53 of the 71 lessons, I can definitely award 5 stars. I like the way it is explained and the approach. It is easy to follow and very understandable. Even for me as a non-native English speaker. I'm already looking forward to starting the course "3D Printing from Zero to Hero in Blender".

You have to practice what he shows you and play around with the instructed material. When I got stuck it was usally not following the instuctor closely. He moves kinda quick for me at times but replaying the lesson I can usally replicate exactly what he does, Very knowledgable instuctor.

The course was good, especially the pace at which it was taught. In some places I would have liked more explanations, e.g. with the render engines or the UV maps. For example, the question of why UV maps are created first and then almost all maps are revised again during material creation remains open to me. Is this not double work?

This is a good course for complete beginners. The two softwares used in the course already have upgraded versions with slightly different approaches to some tools. Nevertheless, this course is still useful as a basic reference and a doorway to more advanced topics.

I have experience with Blender...however I learned quite a few tricks...also...I had zero experience on FreeCad and that was really cool as it's another tool for my workflow. Thomas is a fine instructor...he knows what he's doing even though he's not the most engaging one...still...the content is so good that it hooks you. Take this course...it's worth every penny...

Using Archipack are you left with all the tris in the mesh. I am just wondering if it might be less work to use archipack, rather than importing a mesh? As well when you are just using a color rather than a texture is there a reason to convert those sections to quads? For example inside walls with a color texture rather than say a stuccotexture. Does it make any difference? Thanks

This course is great and informative. Learnt a lot from here as I am totally new to Freecad, Architectural CAD modelling and some exprience with Blender. For those who are interested in Architectural Modelling, this course is recommended. You may need to watch over the videos a few times to get fully understanding. The tutor is talking in a slower pace in this course than the other course that I subscribed "Architectural Design & Animation in Blender 2.8X". So far, I am able to follow as a beginner as the tutor's explanation is quite clear and greater in details. Hope that after i complete this course then i can continue to finish off my previous subscription. Happy Blending!
