Build Modern Android App with REST API and Ktor Server (Udemy.com)

Love the course so far, however I have noticed that you play some sort of background music at very low volume which is kind of distracting for some people (like me). Would love it if in your future courses you refrained from using background music altogether. Thanks!

Course is really good and understandable. but one thing is left that How to save data in DB on server using API and return those data based on request the course was all about just static data. I want example like I am getting request from API and saving it in DB and then getting based filter pure dynamics.

there's conflict with statusPages and trycatch illegal arguments on unknown endpoints, so unit test result showing unexpected result in assertEqual. So i comment the statusPage of return message "page not found". it's working right now. sorry for my bad english.

The video content is very old and does not match the current api like ktor testing. Some stuff like injecting Repos with Koin in tests simply not work and is not implemented in the Github example. I must say, at this point is very frustrating to search and debug issues.

I'm halfway through the course and I'm finding it amazing. I was introduced to the Ktor framework for backend development with Kotlin, and Stefan explains the concepts so well. The course also teaches you unit testing which most intro courses fail to include. Totally recommend.

Nice one! Thanks for updating ktor to 2.0 and adding an alternative end-point with page/limit. Why is caching mechanism put in the RemoteDataSource, and not in the repo? RemoteDataSorce has a db dependency, so it's not a clean remote any more. Also, I would bind/provide repo with Hilt, and replace module in tests @TestInstallIn for easier testing. Adding e.g KMongo would make it a simple full stack.

Very outstanding and well explained. I am very grateful to come across such a course as a passionate android and ktor developer. Am looking forward to more updates on how we can have a MongoDB and be able to upload data with images from android to the backend.

Five stars, because I can't give more than that. Everything is professional clean code, clean architecture, external libraries, content up to date, fast reply for questions, there is testing for both android and ktor projects. It's really worth it, this is the best course for android on Udemy, I would recommend it for everyone want to be an Android Developer.
