In generarl, this course might come in handy for beginners, if you have deep experiece with Linux or hardening specifically in cloud providers which are common now, this might not be the best option for you. I have some points that might come in handy for the instructor to work on getting better: lecure 39 - sudo access It lacks some details I have to search for. https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-edit-the-sudoers-file --- PAM section needs hands-on demo. I expected to show how to play with pam config files ---- I encounterd bad experience with QA section, I reported a wrong answer and I got nothing useful. ---- SELinux lesson is really poor, and actually this is what I bought the course for, but it turned out to be more of theoritcal and does not provide thorough information about SeLinux. ---- Lecture 87 (firewalld) direct rules of firewalld is not well explaned, you will have to dig deep in the internet to understand how they work. --- Section 9 - "securing environment around Linux" could be replaced by a section that more focuses on CIS workbench or any hardening source. -------------------------------- What I like in the course before leaving I would like to leave something positive that might help you as well, the instructor takes you from beginner level to understanding some details, you have to search and study deeper and deeper to get more details. The instructor uses easy-to-understand language and show the steps in details.

As a student, I like to feel that I have a personal connection with the instructor as the comfort that provides enhances my ability to learn. In a passive online course, that is hard to achieve. What I REALLY like about this course is that the instructor is occasionally surprised by the outcome of a command, investigates the issue, and talks like you are sitting next to him as he does so. I found this to be more helpful than a "fully polished" course in which no "mistakes" are made. Nobody types perfectly & gets everything right in practice. By remaining human, Imran connects with his students...even in a recorded course. Wonderful!

A great course that explains not only how to harden, but provides deep insights on the 'what', meaning the relations within the system, the 'how', meaning how things are done, and finally most important, WHY things are done. And it does also explain what must not be done. I.m.h.o. this is an essential course for everybody who deals with Linux Security and Linux Hardening in practice. This course is exactly what I have sought and the trainer explains all topics very, very well. Especially I liked the various real world lab examples that were demonstrated on the real (resp. virtual) system. The course serves also as a body of security hardening knowledge that can be reused in the future when applying the one or other security measure in a real system environment. Thanks for teaching this in that great way! Top!

Great information, points knowledge in the right direction. Sometimes a little unclear, however after a couple of reviews, and maybe a little research I gained the information that I wanted and needed

Please add more about SSL Certificates which is the epitome of Security in Linux. Although I got to learn a lot of cool stuff during this course I would recommend to cut down on unnecessary additions & focus more in details on required ones with real-time examples . Thanks Imran this is my second course with you & looking forward to take enroll in further course as well!

This is the second class I have taken from Imran Afzal. His teaching style is to the point, and he gives detailed handouts in each section. I needed to review some Linux skills to make a lateral move, and found it to be very helpful. I was able to follow along fine at 2x the normal speed.

I already had few years of experience with several flavors of Linux OS so I wasn't expecting much from this course. To my surprise... there are tonnes of new things to learn. Almost all topics were explained clearly in details. I definitely learned many new things and now I know the things I need to explore. Instructor (Afzal) is really nice. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn how to secure Linux.

One of the best courses here, Imran is an expert in the subject and knows exactly how to teach and convey his knowledge. I have bought many courses on Udemy and bought most of Imran's courses and his rank way up there. I am glad I took this course even though I am not finished with it still I picked up many new tricks and ways to do things better and easier. Thank you Mr Ifzal.
