I've taken multiple PHP/AJAX courses and Laurence's course is one of the best instructors I've had. He took enough time to explain how and why he was using the code. I also like that he allowed enough time to practice his training. I feel as if I can effectively use this training to bring my old code back to life and get it working with PHP7 and above. The code I'm using was written for PHP4/5 and no longer worked with PHP7 and above. I have over 130,000 pages of code that I'm updating and Laurence has helped me accomplish that task. What I don't like about this course is bootstrap, tons of wasted code using bootCrap and more opportunity for a failure. Thank you this course was extremely helpful for me.

I am really happy till now. He is explaining all of the stuff step by step. The only problem is that I am not very familiar with MySQL, so i don't know the real meaning of many terms.

I'm having to do some background work to keep up with some of the software being used but it's really concise.

There is some good info here, but a lot of bad info too. For example, the course uses MD5 for hashing passwords even though MD5 is widely known to be vulnerable, passwords hashed via MD5 can be easily compromised, and PHP has offered a built-in password_hash function since version 5.5.0. Password-hashing via MD5 is about as outdated as the BR and HR HTML elements used in the course. The system developed in the course also goes only partway by being API-driven but not even protecting against cross-site request forgery (a.k.a. CSRF attacks) let alone isolating the client and API origins. Then near the end of the course, the instructor stops short of demonstrating his own fully working project, citing e-mail trouble. That was a perfect opportunity for him to investigate and resolve his problem then make a lesson about it to help students who might encounter the same problem. The course also includes some incorrect terminology. Please be aware that hashing and encryption are not the same thing and that formatting and encoding are not the same thing. Alas, as this course does not teach students how to develop a system that is suitable for use in production, I cannot recommend it for that purpose. If you work through it, please modernize and harden your project before deploying it to production.

Clear, concise instructions. Not only does he seem to know his stuff, but so far he's sharing the information clearly and confidently.

Seems as though this will be worthwhile. It is progressing at an appropriate pace.

Great, as always. I do pass by pass, and I start to understand it.

Good class. It was frustrating in the beginning because I didn't know how to identify PHP syntax errors and because my PHP is at 5.2. Once I learned to look in the PHP log under apache I was cooking with gas! It's a fast paced course that delivers what it promises. A complete working login/registration form that you can build on. I did learn the basics of how it's put together as well as how jquery, ajax, and php all work together. I did have a few minor "nits" in following along due to the speed but that's why we have forward and reverse. 8^) The content was well presented, he covers the major components very well, but you still have to do a bit of research on your own to extend it. This is a perfect course that gives you a complete foundation to build on. Worth every penny!
