I really like how the instructordescribes his rationale for making changes on the fly as he's making them. He also points out common beginner mistakes. The content of this course will be very useful for me in my next game project.

I enjoyed the course overall. The instructor is a skilled pixel artist, and it was wonderful watching him work and learning how to make tilesets and how the individual pieces link together. There are some neat shortcuts and valuable lessons to be pulled from these lectures!
If I had to offer criticism, it's that it can be difficult (and occasionally maddening) to follow along with the lessons, since there is a lot of on-the-fly corrections and undoing, and oftentimes a draft you've tried to recreate gets scrapped later in the lecture. And if you're not trying to reconstruct the artist's samples, there simply isn't enough insight into why the instructor is doing what they're doing, so it can be difficult to adjust your own work and improve upon it if you're doing something that varies slightly from what you see on screen. Mostly, the instructor just intuits what would make something look better and does it, but doesn't always explain the logic behind the decisions. So ultimately I'm glad I took the course but feel like it could be improved if more time was spent on the theory that went into the incredible sprite art.

Very little amount of material, learned a little bit, but in my opinion not enough. Although I do love all the free teaching on the his YouTube channel HeartBeast.

He was straight forward and to the point. Made really great pixel art with enough explanation. It was an overall great experience and I feel more comfortable creating pixel art.

Will definitely be able to take this information into my future works.

Yeah this is my second course from him and I am finding it great to follow. My only recommendation would be to remember that with programs that are still in beat like Pyxel Edit some of the hot keys are changing so his instructions sometimes dont match the key bindings. This isnt enough for me to grade it down as the course is really enoyable and easy to follow but worth noting

Benjamin never disappoints, always concise and clear. This course was what I was looking for. The only downside is that it is not more extensive and teaches us even more.
