Learn Cucumber BDD with Java -MasterClass Selenium Framework (Udemy.com)

Step by Step Cucumber BDD Framework Tutorial with Java and implement Robust Selenium WebDriver Framework from scratch

Created by: Rahul Shetty Academy

Last updated March 2026

Our take

Based on the ratings of 17,027 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in March 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

The course teaches Cucumber BDD with Java and Selenium in two parts. Part one covers Gherkin, feature files, step definitions, tags, hooks, data tables and scenario outlines. Part two builds a full framework from scratch in a Maven project, with page objects, dependency injection, a page object manager, Extent reports, parallel runs and a scheduled Jenkins job. It runs about 12 hours across 81 lectures and has 87,530 students. It is aimed at QA aspirants, graduates and anyone moving into automation.

Reviewers like the teaching most. Rahul Shetty introduces a problem and then shows the Cucumber feature that solves it, and reviewers, including a complete fresher and a student from a non-IT background, say it was easy to follow. The rating is 4.6 from over 17,000 reviews, with roughly 9,000 of them five stars. Complaints are mild but real. Two reviewers say the Core Java section, which sits near the end, should come first. One hit steps that no longer work on current versions, and another found the repeated explanations slow. One got lost in the page object and test context setup.

The course was last updated in March 2026. At 12 hours it is a focused framework build, not a deep Selenium course, and basic Selenium knowledge helps. If you want a working Cucumber framework by the end, it is a solid pick. If you have never touched Java, watch the Java refresher before you start.

Best forQA aspirants and fresh grads who want a working Cucumber and Selenium framework to adapt for a real job.
Skip it ifYou want deep Selenium or API testing, or you dislike repeated explanations of simple ideas.

Pros

  • Teaches by posing a problem first, then the Cucumber feature that solves it
  • Builds a full framework: page objects, dependency injection, Extent reports, parallel runs
  • Ends with command line runs and Jenkins scheduling, including a parameterized job
  • Updated in March 2026 and rated 4.6 across more than 17,000 reviews

Cons

  • The Core Java and Git sections sit at the end, so Java beginners must jump ahead first
  • Some reviewers say explanations repeat and simple ideas take too long
  • The page object and test context setup confused at least one reviewer
the way Rahul introduces a problem and then teaches the feature which solves it is just marvelous! makes understanding things so easy!
Aditya Kittur, a student

Marked all levels, but it suits testers with a little Selenium who are new to Java. The Java refresher comes last.

The way of explaining the concept is very simple and easy to understand even if non it back ground student also can get the concept

By Swangi Singh on 2/15/2026

For clearing the concepts its good but in organization facing lot many issues which are not mentioned. Try to provide demo of project as per organization standard.

By Nishita on 2/11/2026

Thanks for such detailed explanation by Rahul Shetty Sir , he is such an amazing instructor, I would give 10 star if it would have been possible and learned so many hidden technniques from cucumber framework that I have not used in my project, thanks again.

By Rajesh Kumar on 12/29/2025

One Thing I wanted to add here, you can just create step definition for newly added/created steps by one more way like just run the feature file after converting project as a cucumber project.

By Udemy User on 12/28/2025

One of the best mentor I can say is Rahul Shetty sir. The way he explained each an every part of framework development with examples, it's too good and easily understandable. I would like to say thanks to you sir for making video on this. Thank you so much!!

By Harika Kandukuri on 11/30/2025

The framework is really good, and I truly appreciate the effort you've put into it. It would be even more valuable if you could add some complex, real-time scenarios in addition to the existing ones. Apart from that, your teaching style is exceptionally clear and unique — I really enjoy learning from you."

By Charan Kasulabad on 11/6/2025
