Our take
Based on the ratings of 20,275 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in April 2018. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a short course from Chuck Wall, founder of MarketPower Group, a business growth and research firm in San Antonio. It runs 48 minutes over 13 lectures in three sections: listening, insight, and turning insight into action. The syllabus covers ideas like the Customer Engagement Pyramid, the experience gap, and the difference between big data and big insight. It is aimed at anyone who works with customers, from service managers to marketers, and it asks for no prior knowledge or software.
Reviewers like the examples most. The syllabus names Netflix, Sherwin Williams, Andre Rieu and Chateauform, and students say they found the real-world examples and case studies insightful. One reviewer calls the course concise, well explained and well timed. About 88 percent of the 20,275 ratings are four or five stars. The complaints are mild but real. One three-star reviewer says the problem is described but no real applicable solution methods are given, and there are no quizzes or exercises. It was last updated in 2018, so the stories are not fresh.
It is a short sit, and 38,775 students have already taken it. The praise is for ideas and examples, while the one critical review wants methods it did not get. Take it as a quick way to rethink how your team approaches customers, then look elsewhere for hands-on tools and practice.

Cons
- Last updated in 2018, so the material is several years old
- One reviewer says the problem is described but no real applicable solution methods are given
- No quizzes or exercises to practice with, so it stays high level
it was concise, straight to the point, with great real-world examples, very good reasoning to the various aspects it deals with, very well explained, also very well timed (not overly long, just right).
Beginner fits. There are no prerequisites, and the audience is anyone in service, sales or marketing who deals with customers.
