The course is really nice, but when learning how to draw an eye, there are some explanations missing between the chapter drawing the eyelid and the next one. there should be an explanation how to draw the surrounding lines. It does not bring me forward when i take an already existing picture and start to color this one. also i recommend telling people what program and brushes to use.

I enjoyed this course so much. I've been painting for a while and I'm self-taught; I tend to get into painting without really thinking about it so I loved all the pointing out that even art takes some planning and figuring things out and that all that is okay. Loads of useful information, I recommend this course wholeheartedly!

I would've loved a bit more insight on the brushes/color selection for the skin around the eyes, since it feels like He skimmed over it a bit, but did a great work giving lots of examples on different types of eyes. Really good course. Great even, since this is offered for free.

About to start doing my third course with Austin as I enjoyed the first too very much. I love bits of information Austin provides when comes to explaining why and how things look the way they look in real life and the best ways of representing them in paintings. A course that makes you think, analyse and understand is definitely worth doing.

Another great Austin course! This one is short, but still sweet; not at all lacking in value. There are plenty of good art teachers on Udemy. Austin is my top choice for instructors that convey an in-depth knowledge of the way light and shadow, as well physiological and environmental factors play in a painting for maximum realistic effect. I look forward to the next course I take with Austin.

This was a quick, easy-to-follow course. It was definitely geared towards beginners or people with very little knowledge of eye drawing, starting with the basics. It was short, but provided a good starting point for the artist to continue in their own exercises and learning. Austin was very easy to understand and concise. The demos were simple, but it was good to have a variety of eyes to apply the knowledge too. The course is not about the technical aspects of how to use a specific program, so it would translate well for people in all programs, but basic knowledge of at least one program is probably recommended as there's not a lot of explanation in regards to tools, brush settings, layer modes etc. I would recommend this course to people who are just starting out in character/creature design, but already have a basic understanding of digital art. Great course! Thanks!

Gracias.

This is a great starting point for beginners to learn about eyes and perspective for the face. As an experienced artist, it was a nice refresher on techniques. I personally don't enjoy watching the corrective actions being played out during the instruction, however, a new artist might find it useful to see the process through.

I used to struggle with rendering of eyes quite a bit before taking this course. I'm no expert now, but I have definitely seen a drastic improvement over my previous attempts to convey eyes in my paintings. The exercises in the course were extremely helpful. I think I struggled because I would usually wing it while not fully understanding the nature of the properties in eyes that I should be trying to capture and how to best to represent them. This course has taken away a lot of my confusion and frustration with eye rendering. It was important for me to take this course, because I am now getting into character development and eyes play a critical role in making your characters look convincing. I would recommend this to anyone who struggles with eyes whether you're a digital or traditional artist.

I enjoyed the course... Something I needed refreshing on. Austin is a just the type of instructor to get to the meat of the subject without too much fluff. I recently just switched from marker and ink to a digital environment and needed the experience of someone working with the medium. I've been going through some of his other courses and I'm making some headway in this new-to-me medium of digital painting.
