Course Description
Master Docker by Containerizing Django Applications from Development to Production
This course is designed for Django developers who want to master Docker and containerize their applications for consistent development, testing, and production deployments. It is also the perfect next step for students who have completed my Django for Python Developers course.
Docker is one of the most in-demand technologies in modern software development. It allows you to package your application along with all of its dependencies into lightweight, portable containers that run consistently across your local machine, testing environments, staging servers, and cloud platforms.
In this hands-on course, you’ll learn Docker from the ground up while building and containerizing real Django applications.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:
Launch AWS EC2 Linux instances for Docker deployments.
Learn the essential Linux commands required for working with Docker.
Install and configure Docker on Linux.
Understand Docker architecture and the container lifecycle.
Master the most commonly used Docker commands.
Learn how Docker image layering works and why it improves efficiency.
Create and manage Docker volumes and bind mounts, and understand their differences.
Create Docker networks and connect multiple containers.
Write Dockerfiles to build custom Docker images.
Build Docker images and run containers from them.
Install and use Docker Desktop for local development.
Use Visual Studio Code and its Docker extension to create, edit, and manage Docker projects.
Build a simple Django web application.
Containerize a Django project using Docker.
Learn Docker Compose and create docker-compose.yml files.
Launch Django applications using Docker Compose.
Build a dynamic Django application backed by a PostgreSQL database.
Containerize multi-container applications with Django and PostgreSQL.
Deploy and manage multiple containers using Docker Compose.
Why Take This Course?
This course focuses on practical, real-world examples rather than just theory. You’ll learn by building complete projects and gain the skills required to confidently use Docker in professional Django development environments.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge and hands-on experience to package, deploy, and manage Django applications using Docker and Docker Compose, making your development workflow faster, more reliable, and production-ready.

This course was excellent — I truly learned a lot and appreciated the clear explanations and practical examples throughout. One suggestion to make it even more valuable would be to include sections on multi-stage Docker image builds, techniques to reduce the size of Python Docker images (since your understanding of Python is clearly strong), and best practices for securing container images. Covering these three topics would significantly boost the course, especially for learners like me who need to apply these concepts in real-world organizational environments.

Bharath is a top notch instructor. This Docker for Python Django developer course is the perfect course for anyone who wants to get started with Docker. The course was above my expectations, all the explanations were crystal clear especially for someone who did not have any idea about Docker before this. Thank you Bharath, looking forward for more courses in the future.

The course is ok for beginners to have an idea about docker and django being containerized but for course upgrade create a professional django project and dockerize it and also show how to serve static files with dockerize django deployed cause django when deployed with debug=True it does not serve the statics/media by its own.How an actual webserver comes into play like Nginx/Apache with docker.

I enjoyed the learning but somehow all these commands did not produce the same results even though I had appropriate system settings for the same.

Crystal Clear. The course for Docker you'd look for. If you're thinking to buy this course, then I highly recommend it. Great Job Bharath sir.

Good course on the basics of Docker, but also some good info on Linux commands as well as managing docker trough the command-line. Could maybe have gone a bit deeper into how the persisted data works with the volumes command, as I don't feel like i fullt grasp that yet, and will probably be using the postgres app for persisting DBs when running a DB locally. All in all, worthwhile and on point!
