Great course. Great Instructor. This was well worth my time to take this online course. I learned the techniques I need to enhance my astrophotography. As an additional benefit I was also introduced on many ways to use GIMP to modify, enhance, sharpen, many photography elements. I learned how to combine text, Imagery and graphic elements to create new products like posters, book covers, pixel art, vector art, etc. Over all this was a great course with a very knowledgeable instructor. The course becomes more interesting once you get beyond the introductions to the various tools available to you. It's quite hard to take it all in but I can see it being a great resource to use as I edit my own picture. The worked examples are probably the best part of the course. I may come across it at the back end of the course but the thing that would take it to another level would be some sort of workflow advice on images and seeing video examples from start to finish on a couple of images

While the course is packed full of great information, and you will learn a lot, I have rated it lower because it is all free on Michael's You Tube channel, and there are still lectures with Patreon supporters popping up with tools named after them, which are misplaced on a paid course. Gosh, why do that?My personal opinion is that people shouldn't create free content and then sell it here for �199.99 (current price).That said, Michael has taken the time to collate the lectures and has created a structured course, which is why I didn't ask for a refund.As I mentioned, there is a lot to learn and Michael explains things very well, with lots of real examples of how to apply the tools. This is not just a, "This tool does this, look at these random shapes", course. It does go into depth of each tool.

A LOT of information but he talks really fast, and often I don't think he uses the simplest way to explain something. For instance, he completely lost me on his explanation of Quick Mask, so I looked it up on YouTube, found a video that explained it MUCH more clearly, and came back to the Udemy class. Also I'm having a bit of trouble switching back and forth between the Udemy screen and the GIMP window -- he doesn't say "I'll give you a minute while you find that," which would be helpful -- and God help you if you're trying to take notes. I pause him while I find what I'm looking for (or jot down what I want to remember) and then I start him up again. I do admit that he definitely knows his stuff.

So far, being a beginner, I am learning at what I feel to be a quick pace, yet thorough and done in such a manner as to cement the techniques in my mind. So far so good! The quizzes and assignments are helpful toward reinforcing the techniques. UPDATE ON CONCLUSION: This was a great course! I've learned amazing skills from having no experience at all. I really enjoyed every lesson and assignment and added each one to my own skill set... there is no doubt in my mind that this course is worth the time and effort if you have any interest in learning artistic skills in a digital environment. I don't just feel confident that I can complete projects using GIMP 2.10, I know I can because I already have!

"just click over here", "you can see over here"... by the time I find your cursor, you've moved on to another spot!Too hard to follow, I'm constantly going back to re-run the sequence.In chapter Transformation tools, you used a red arrow to indicate where you are. Why not this in other section?
