What other students say about the course:
"Was looking for a short course to understand git and Github. This course was precise and to the point about the key ideas and was very practical and easy to follow."
"Being a long-time Udemy user, I've seen how the competitive nature of this service encourages authors to create ever bigger and more comprehensive courses that provide huge value.
As a customer, this is good to me, but as a person with a business to run I can rarely afford to attend 30-50 hour courses."

Alex Dan — Cloud Architect, Developer & Instructor
With over a decade of hands-on software engineering experience, I've built my career at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, web development, and practical education.
My technical journey started in embedded automotive systems — developing Java-based navigation solutions for major car brands. From there, I moved into cloud engineering, building AWS-powered data pipelines for connected vehicles using Node.js, TypeScript, Lambda, DynamoDB, and a full suite of AWS services. I later worked as a Node.js developer at one of Eastern Europe's largest e-commerce platforms, before transitioning into independent cloud architecture consulting.
Today, as a freelance Cloud Architect, I design and implement scalable cloud solutions across industries — from automotive to enterprise — with a focus on infrastructure reliability, CI/CD automation, and modern serverless architectures.
Parallel to my engineering career, I've been teaching on Udemy since 2017, growing a community of over 300,000 students across 19 courses. My current focus is AI-assisted development — helping developers work smarter with tools like GitHub Copilot, VS Code AI extensions, and agentic coding workflows.

A great short intro into Git, GitHub, VSCode and using them together. The video cutting of some videos at beginning and end was a bit too aggressive to keep the course at an hour, but not much was lost :) I saw this course as a teaser for Alex's actual VSCode and Github CoPilot courses to see if his teaching and speaking style "clicks" with me. Can't complain at all, happy to start the real courses! Cheers.

Thank you! I had taken a break from coding and had previously used GitHub Desktop, but I can’t use it for my work anymore. I needed to understand how to use Git directly from VS Code, and this was exactly what I needed.

This course is designed for learners with efficiency in mind. I had wanted to get started with GitHub for another project and did not want dive too deeply into Git as I wanted to learn as I go. This course provided just the right thing. Thank you, Alex!

I'm going through this Git course and already learning a lot. The explanations are clear, and practicing each command as it's explained has really boosted my confidence—especially with the command line. Looking forward to completing it. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a solid Git foundation!

Although a very concise course, it pinpoints the most common things that you will encounter while using Git. I think that it could be great if the author could provide a detailed version of this course. Other than this it was a 1hr well spent.

Very disappointed. The instructor demonstrates how to use .gitignore in the course, but in practice it does not work with the files he provides. No response from instructor (waited 6 days). Found a free youtube video superior to this one.

Definitely a great short course. Direct to the point. Just enough commands to start with git. Just a recommendation is to incorporate SSH to avoid being asked the password. Thank you for this course.

interessante, mostra prima di tutto alcuni comandi git da linea di comando, per poi passare all'utilizzo con Visual Studio Code. In questo modo fornisce un quadro chiaro dell'argomento.

It's a nice introductory course for beginners. The course tells much about creating a repository on GitHub and basic git commands for uploading our files on GitHub through git bash.

Very informative and easy to follow along. I'm fairly new to coding and have tried several IDE's but really like VS Code. This course helped my understanding of the integrated Git and GitHub features. Knowing this makes the workflow so much easier.
