Alex Dan — Cloud Architect, Developer & Instructor

With over a decade of hands-on software engineering experience, I've built my career at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, web development, and practical education.

My technical journey started in embedded automotive systems — developing Java-based navigation solutions for major car brands. From there, I moved into cloud engineering, building AWS-powered data pipelines for connected vehicles using Node.js, TypeScript, Lambda, DynamoDB, and a full suite of AWS services. I later worked as a Node.js developer at one of Eastern Europe's largest e-commerce platforms, before transitioning into independent cloud architecture consulting.

Today, as a freelance Cloud Architect, I design and implement scalable cloud solutions across industries — from automotive to enterprise — with a focus on infrastructure reliability, CI/CD automation, and modern serverless architectures.

Parallel to my engineering career, I've been teaching on Udemy since 2017, growing a community of over 300,000 students across 19 courses. My current focus is AI-assisted development — helping developers work smarter with tools like GitHub Copilot, VS Code AI extensions, and agentic coding workflows.

At the start you presented various Copilot features (Chat, Agents, Custom Agents, MCP, different models, token efficiency, Skills, and Hooks). However, in the practical examples/projects you mostly used an unspecified chat interface and rarely demonstrated the concrete tools and capabilities that Copilot provides. I would have liked to see more practical demonstrations, for example: Choosing the right model for a specific task, Creating and using custom agents for defined tasks or projects, Practical use of Skills and Hooks, Concrete examples of how to improve token efficiency. In short: more specialized, application-oriented examples showing how the individual Copilot features can be used deliberately and effectively.

It was good course, the key point that i understand is the how i can integrate GitHub copilot with vs code and do the useful things. apart from this, I understand that how can we interact with AI model locally.

By Gianluca Ferrario on 8/18/2026

The instructor knows the topic very well and is very capable to transmit hie ideas. I appreciated the effort to create mutliple example projects in different programming languages.

These are the kinds of lessons I was looking for to understand GitHub Copilot's features. They were helpful, with all the information presented and explained clearly. The length of each video was also just right.

A good match for me, I've learnt many new things. However, I enjoyed more the first part as the second. Maybe that second part should be much more focused on using Copilot in more creative ways.

This course has been incredibly helpful in enhancing my understanding of GitHub Copilot and improving my coding efficiency. The practical examples and clear explanations made learning a smooth and engaging experience. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to leverage the power of AI in their development workflow.

By Mathusoothanan Thanabalaratnam on 4/18/2026

The course provides a good overall introduction to GitHub Copilot and is helpful for getting started. The explanations are clear and easy to follow. However, it would be even better if it covered planning mode in more detail, as it is an important feature. Additionally, a deeper dive into MCP concepts would add more value to the course. Other than that, it’s a well-structured and useful course.

The GitHub Copilot course was an excellent learning experience that significantly improved my productivity and understanding of AI-assisted development. The content was clear, well-structured, and highly practical, making it easy to follow along regardless of prior experience with Copilot. What stood out most was the hands-on approach. The real-world examples and exercises helped me see how Copilot can be effectively integrated into everyday coding workflows—not just for writing code faster, but for improving code quality, generating ideas, and reducing repetitive tasks. I also appreciated how the course highlighted both the strengths and limitations of Copilot. This balanced perspective made it easier to use the tool more responsibly and effectively, especially when it comes to reviewing and validating generated code. Overall, this course has made me more confident in leveraging AI tools as a developer. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to boost their efficiency and stay current with modern development practices.
