Course Description

What if you could open a GitHub issue, describe the outcome you want, and come back to a draft PR with tests run and changes ready to review? That’s the promise of the GitHub Copilot Coding Agent. This course is a hands-on guide to delegating real work to an agent that operates in the cloud - planning tasks, updating multiple files, running checks with GitHub Actions, and iterating based on your feedback - so you ship faster with less context-switching.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Best practices on how to use the GitHub Copilot Coding Agent to your advantage

  • When to use the GitHub Copilot Coding Agent vs. Agent Mode and how to combine both for maximum efficiency.

  • Learn the sweet-spot tasks that are ideal for the GitHub Copilot Coding Agent

  • How to enable and configure the Coding Agent for a repository within your GitHub Organization/Enterprise

  • Writing high-signal issues (clear goals, constraints, acceptance criteria) that the agent can turn into reliable PRs.

  • Providing additional context to the Coding Agent to ensure the Coding Agent follows your organzation's standards

  • Guiding runs: reviewing plans and diffs, giving feedback in comments, and re-running tasks safely.

  • Automating multi-file changes, test execution, and CI workflows - without living in your IDE.

  • Configure the Coding Agent to work with MCP to connect to external data and increase capabilities beyond GitHub

By the end, you’ll confidently direct the Coding Agent from idea → issue → draft PR, keeping control over quality while offloading the busywork.

Great course and many thanks! I really enjoy the course not only it is compact and easy to follow. And the best part, it comes with demos along the my learning process. It meets my busy schedule at work from home as I can absorb the essence of all in a clear delivery from Bryan. Thanks again.

This was a good intro to understanding Github coding agent and agent mode, especially for someone who is getting started in this AI journey.

What generaly needs attention is the Agent Mode. Lot of stress is put into talking about copilot. Even with that, there is no stress on how we can control agent's behaviour while writing code. what to include or exclude. skills, md files etc..

By Antonio Blanco Teixeira on 6/29/2026

Explica los conceptos de manera muy detallada y sencilla de entender mediante ejemplos teóricos y prácticos. Lo único malo que veo al curso es que está completamente en Inglés, sin posibilidad de poner los subtítulos de los videos en español (España).

I think the title is "bigger" than the course, maybe adding "Introduction" or "Basics" of GitHub Copilot would be better. Overall the course is great, contains the basics with examples of what GitHub copilot is.

By Maaz Momin on 5/25/2026

Would have appreciated if we could have gone deeper or show a demo of how coding agent works. Other than that the course is very good.

By Santiago Mari Baixauli on 5/25/2026

The course is good but we can't practice because it requires licenses that we don't have

By Md Zaffir Alam on 3/31/2026

Initial in don't the git hub copilot can plan, can read files and work with coordination of us. that's a Greate use of GitHub copilots.

By John Ellis on 3/4/2026

This is easy, quick, and covers the base as well. I liked how simple it was using real-world examples.

By Hugo Manuel Ferreira Rosado on 1/14/2026

A concise, objective course that delivers essential content, so we can start producing right away with a solid background. Thanks!
