Course Description
This course includes access to hands-on labs and FREE Azure and AWS accounts to use for the labs*
Learn Terraform (and OpenTofu) by building real Infrastructure as Code with hands-on labs for AWS, Azure, and GitHub (don't limit yourself to a course covering only one platform). This course is beginner-friendly and designed to help you go from “I’ve never used Terraform” to writing clean, reusable configurations you can confidently apply at work. In this course, you’ll learn Terraform fundamentals step-by-step, then reinforce each concept through practical labs. You’ll work with the Terraform workflow and CLI, set up providers, and build real configurations using HCL.
What you’ll be able to do by the end:
Write readable, reusable Terraform code in HCL
Use providers, resources, variables, outputs, and data sources
Understand and work with Terraform state (including best practices)
Create reusable modules and refactor code to reduce repetition using locals and DRY patterns
Apply the same core workflow across AWS, Azure, and GitHub without “starting over” each time
What’s inside (high-level):
Terraform and OpenTofu fundamentals (so you understand both)
Environment setup for AWS, Azure, and GitHub
Core Terraform building blocks: providers, variables, outputs, and dependencies
State and backends (what they are, why they matter, and how to use them)
Modules and reusable patterns for maintainable Infrastructure as Code
Real-world demos that reflect practical DevOps workflows
Who this course is for:
Beginners to Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
Cloud/DevOps engineers who want a practical, lab-driven foundation
Anyone who learns best by doing (not by watching long lectures)
What Makes This Course Different:
Built by a HashiCorp Exam Contributor - I help write the official Terraform certification exams
True multi-cloud coverage - Master Terraform across AWS, Azure, and GitHub (not just one platform)
OpenTofu included - Learn both Terraform and its open-source fork for future-proofing
50+ hands-on labs - Every concept reinforced with real infrastructure builds
Enterprise-focused - Learn the patterns used in production environments, not just tutorials
HashiCorp Authorized Instructor - Teaching the same curriculum HashiCorp uses for their clients
4.7 instructor rating - Trusted by 150,000+ students across all my courses

A highly detailed explanation of Terraform fundamentals that provides a strong foundation for learning Terraform and developing proficiency in writing, managing, and maintaining Terraform code.

This course was a good overview that touched upon most topics. I would have enjoyed more hands on labs, but it's a good starter class. I was able to purchase on sale and would say that it was a good value. There were a few problems for me accessing the labs on the learning platform, so it may be wise to have a preferred cloud provider account ready along with VSCode and Terraform so you can proceed with the labs on your own as I did.

As a Sys Engineer that never touched Terraform before, this was a great entry point to learning IaC. Bryan did an Excellent Job of explain the core of terraform and how it's applied. While I do have a Cloud Practitioner cert, My plan now shifts to gaining a deeper understanding of all the AWS services so that I can apply what i learn here today. PS: I've also purchase to Exam prep course for the Terraform Associate which will be done after my AWS SAA journey,

This was a great learning course for beginners to Terraform. My only issue is that it was stated, multiple times, that you could use the hands on Labs if you had a Udemy Business account (which I have through my company) which is very important to my learning. But when I got to the Labs section, it says I need a Udemy Pro account. And I don't have the option to request access, and there are no options to use the other Lab environment. Could you please fix that or update your training?

Loving the course soo far. The instructor seems to be very skilled. But please, can you release a course for the Associate-004 exam? There is currently none on the market

Perfect course to get started on learning Terraform! Covers all the basics and has Labs to learn with Github if you don't want to connect to a Public Cloud such as AWS or Azure.
By Christopher Torok on 1/6/2026
The first part of the course is pretty heavy with definitions. I took lots of notes. But the 2nd half is heavy with hands on labs!! I'm going to start managing my Git repos with terraform as practice.

I give 5 stars for the clarity and the quality of the practical exercices. I loved the labs in gitlab codespaces and the role playing as well. On the other hand I find the videos way too long. I had to skip a lot. Nevertheless nice course and merits 5 stars,

I took this to better understand how to use terraform and see how it relates to managing cloud infrastructure. I plan to reinforce the skill i learned here within my homelab.
