Course Description

It’s important to learn new skills, but it’s even more important to learn the right skills.

Why Golang? Well, Golang has been the most popular language to learn over the past 3 years, and is easily one of the top trending programming languages of the past decade.

But the reason why it’s popular is because it’s the true programmer’s language. It was built with the idea to make work a lot easier for programmers all over the world. And it does exactly that.

Go or Golang is a programming language developed and maintained by Google. It is a free and open-source language. It’s easy to learn, it’s scalable and it has fast execution.

Overall a good intro to Go and programming in general. Suggestions for improvement I have are to remove the lab questions where "error" is the answer because of a spelling error. I don't think spelling "gotcha" questions are helpful in reenforcing the concepts being learned. Also, in the deferred function and pointer labs, some of the questions in the early labs were not covered until later lessons, so those sections should be reviewed to make sure the labs align with what was actually covered. Overall good course.

I recently completed this course, and it was an excellent learning experience. The instructor has great teaching skills — concepts were explained clearly, with practical examples that made everything easy to understand. The sessions were well-paced and very motivating. Highly recommended to anyone looking to learn Go effectively.

I recently completed this course and overall had a very good learning experience. The instructor was polite, knowledgeable, and explained concepts in a clear and beginner-friendly way. I really liked her teaching style — she broke topics down into simple steps, which made them easy to understand. The hands-on lab sessions were also helpful, though I did notice they lagged a little at times. One area that could be improved is the setup process. The course mainly showed how to install Go, but didn’t go into detail about configuring it locally (for example, in VS Code). While Go can run in VS Code even without the Go extension, having the extension makes development much smoother with features like auto-completion, debugging, and formatting. Since I already have some programming background, I managed to set it up myself, but true beginners might struggle here. Another small gap was not mentioning that: A package (folder) can only have one main function — if more than one is defined, Go will throw an error. Shorthand variable declarations (:=) cannot be used globally, only inside functions. These are important things to know early on. Apart from these minor points, the rest of the course was solid, well-structured, and definitely worth taking for anyone who wants to start with Go.

Very crystal-clear explanation with scratch, practicing code by self and polishing the concepts with basic and tricky Labs. Excellent teaching skills with smooth and flawless communication. Amazing!!! Anyone can go ahead with zero coding knowledge; everything is from scratch. Thank you, Priyanka mam.

Good intro to the Go language, I wish that the labs were more hands-on coding rather than multiple choice questions where you get to practice the content taught or even show different levels or examples of use in regards to basic then advanced use cases. It's most likely taught in the advanced course, but I think it would just be easier to combine the two so that the learning flow is there.

There was some confusion if I should be downloading labs for this class. I began downloading VS Code and Go for my computer before you specified there would be provided labs. You should mention that in the beginning before you introduce the tools. This class is geared more for people without programming experience. For a person that knows how to program, but is learning the syntax the explanations are a little too CompSci 101.

The course covers very basics to understand about Golang and Good for non-programmers to begin. But it would be nice if concepts like; Methods, Method Sets, Interfaces are explained in much more detailed manner and their use cases. Also, it's my suggestion to have challenging exercises for learner instead multiple choices and some explanation with answers at end of each exercise would be good. Moreover Good One and I liked the teaching way and concept explaining..

What an amazing course! The course is made for complete beginners and will teach you every concept with hands-on labs. All thanks to Priyanka and the entire team of KodeKloud. Just a small suggestion for other learners: You can opt for 1.25X speed while watching the videos.

The course is quite good. Has the basics and nice examples. In the more advanced topics (methods and interfaces) would be good to have a deeper view. I was able to understand what you where talking about because I have previous experience in other languages. Also would be good to have some lectures about theory behind it in order to understand from where it's coming from. As an overall, I've recommended this course to several friends without or with some experience programming because I think it's useful and very well explained. Thank you!

As a beginner class on Go, this course hits the right notes covering the essentials of the language in a clear and concise manner. Some additional content around concurrency, type assertion and code organization in modules/packages will make this intro course even better.
