Course Description
There’s a reason this tool is so popular and a MUST-KNOW for the highest earning DevOps industry with more teams adopting it everyday.
Picture this: the application you’re working with has 5 separate components that amounts to 20 deployments, 5 services, 12 configmaps, 7 PVC’s and to top it off, you need to deploy it into 8 different testing environments before going into prod.
How many YAML files would that be?
Now you have to manage the constant changes to those files across all those different environments.
What if you need to clear it down? How long will it take you to roll back?
This is where Helm comes in.
Helm allows us to “template” our Kubernetes files so we can use a values file to plug in any details we need.
This means each environment can have it’s own values files so each deployment can be tailored
You can add our Kuberentes YAML files and package them into what is called a “Chart”.
Each of the separate applications can be put in their own chart and pulled in as dependencies from Chart Museum - our chart repository.
Helm is often referred to as The “package manager for Kubernetes” as you can deploy charts and any dependencies they have in a single deployment.
Deploying charts is a breeze: it’s one SINGLE command.
And to clear an environment?
You guessed it, just ONE command!
I Know! Unbelievable, right?
Think of how many late nights you would have avoided!
Imagine all the time, effort and pain you’re going to save using Helm.
Now you’re ready to use it, you need to master it.
Now you know the best kept secret from some of the best DevOps teams in the world.
You’ve got the opportunity to master this tool.
The Helm 3 Masterclass will take you from Zero to Helm Hero.
Showing you:
How to take advantage of the powerful templating language

The course is very clear, concise, and objective. It goes straight to the point without much back and forth and useless yada-yada-yada. I really appreciated it.
By Ivaylo Vachkov on 5/31/2022
In the earlier sections some of the tutorials jump ahead in the codebase examples, so had to manually catch up and make sure I am on equal terms with the presenter. Other than that, excellent value and exactly what I was looking for. To the point, full of examples and explanations. I recommend this course.

Brief, just long enough to do the job without being exhausting. Hands-on demos and exercises for reinforcement. Very few slides so it was interesting and engaging. The videos are about 2 hours in length, but taking the time to explore and tryout the concepts pushes it to a full day of excellent learning. Great course, Thanks TJ.

I chose this course because I got fed up by the strong non-native accents, but I didn't ever think that a native speaker would create the shortest lessons (lots of 1-2 min videos). I think there could have been more info told, but I guess I won't know for sure.

Would have given 5 starts except for some jumbled, ultra-fast talking in the middle. Not sure if the instructor was nervous which is understandable, but the editing of some videos seem to start right in the middle with no context to previous video lesson. Which if someone was an absolute beginner would be extremely frustrating and confusing. Which would discourage them from proceeding further in the course.

Very good overall, suits my needs well. It could be more comprehensive, and a little more conceptual background would be a great improvement. Sometimes it was difficult for me to understand the speech and the English subtitles are generated automatically and are not very accurate.
By Victor Herrera on 5/13/2021
It's a fast-paced course that gives you all basics of using helm quite successfully. Just like other courses I feel there are some details that don't make it a 5 star course. At the start the video seems cut into a section where it is not explained how you hollowed the deployment and service files, thankfully I noticed and replicated from pausing the video, but someone else could be lost from the start. You could use some minor editing to make the videos better and though I like the quick video format, I dont think I would mind 3-5min videos over the 1min videos that just might sometimes feel too rushed. You could pack each section into less, mildly longer, more concise videos. I get you don't want to lose time on slides and hours of useless materials and I appreciate that but there is no harm on expanding just a bit more or going a bit slower on examples without losing that which makes your courses unique.

It very hard to follow. The video cutting is not done well, sometime a lecture start with already content displayed and it is not explained. I had to sometimes look into the sources on github to be able to follow. Course is not up-to-date anymore, but this is not a big issue, search and reading will quickly get you where you want. I wish on the start some slides would be presented to make the goal of a section more clear. But to quickly get an overview about helm v3 to course is good.

If you are a beginner and looking for a jump start on Helm as well as tips and tricks, this course is for you. Begins with Hands-On. So, you get enough to practice and repeat. There are some editing issues and some links are deprecated. Otherwise, just serves the purpose.
By Sabrina Lautier on 1/10/2021
I learnt a lot and really like the format (1min short video in average). However one thing could be improved: the course is very new on Udemy but it's yet a bit outdated, some links are already broken (chartmuseum) and in Helm v3 the dependencies are handled in Chart.yaml.
